Since it looks like Saylorville and Redrock will be mess for a while where are other places to take my boat in western and central Iowa? I would also like to camp. I know there are lakes around but I dont know much about any of them. We usually make a trip or two to theSpirit lake or Okokoji every year but I would like to save that trip until Aug. Thanks

I always enjoy going up to Clear Lake. Lake Panorama is nice as well - neither are overly busy and have some good ski runs

Grew up skiing or Panorama. It is a nice lake and close to home. Never been to Clear Lake.

Not sure how the flooding has effected it but I love Rathbun...

My wife called them the other day and they said they are a few feet above normal and open. That was on the top of our list to visit at some point, glad to hear others like it.

Just make sure you bring everything you need, especially beer. There isn't much around for quite a ways. We have camped there quite a bit and always had a great time...
