Kicking Game?

Ok.....Someone show me some positities on our kicking game? When we kick the ball off the tee, how far is it going to go? Endzone, 10, 20, 25? That alone could cost us 2 games. How is the fieldgoal unit?

You would think since we have lost the B12 North 2 years in a row "mainly, but not all" because of kicking we would get that fixed. Just wondering....





Hicks not getting much yards against the 2nd team also bothers me.



Other than that, I think we have a great team this year.

I think we have started 'the fix' by waiving goodbye to the overpaid assistant coach that has been in charge of the kickers for the past few years. It dumb-founds me how he was the highest paid assistant coach under Mac and was only in charge of the Special Teams and TE's - good riddens!



Hopefully Mac will begin to realize what most other D1 schools know and that is to make sure you have quality K & P on scholarship and not having Open Tryouts from the freshmen in residents halls come September.



I think Hicks would have problems with the 3rd, 4th & Scout team. Bring on Harris!

The Intramural program holds a field goal-kicking contest early in the fall. The kid who won it last year was a significantly better kicker than anyone on the football team. Everyone was kinda wondering why they don't just take the winner of the IM contest and hand him a jersey and a helmet...
