What the heck is going on at KCCI weather department? First Kurtis Gertz says he’s leaving now Bree Sullivan seem to quit...? I understand that Kelley Moody is taking a long leave with the death of her mom suddenly dying but that was well over a month ago now. The morning show doesn’t seem to be all that great of a team either anymore it seems more rare that they all are actually there than someone constantly missing. Maybe the off season of Iowa State sports has me bored but just seems like something is not right there . Anyone have more insight on any of this?

From Bree's social media posting it looks like she was wanting to be moved to full time but KCCI didn't offer that to her, so she left. I think when Kurtis leaves that will leave them with Metinka, Jason and Kelly. But yeah, like you said, Kelly has been gone over a month for sure, possibly two months or more now.
For the morning show, it would usually just be Kelly, but with her being gone, they've just been rotating the others in. No real insight from me on this but have to figure KCCI is working on hiring at least one more to replace Kurtis. I actually had thought Kurtis was leaving in April but maybe they got him to stay a bit longer to help with the transition.

For the morning show I guess I was referring to the whole crew of them. Granted they have a bigger amount on the show than WHO and WOI . They just don’t seem to have a very fluid crew anymore . I’ve switched to WOI anymore yeah they are a lower looking budget station but I’ve enjoyed their show more so. I know I’m being picky but it’s the only time of day I really have the time to watch and get the news I guess .
It’s about what you would expect from KCCI, they’re a joke.
I avoid KCCI totally. There weather forecasts are worthless for rain predictions. They are also more biased against ISU.
KCCI has a much better production, but I agree with this. Other than visual appeal, WHO beats KCCI everywhere else across the board.
I grew up on KCCI. They’ve lost quite a bit.
Same. John McLaughlin was always on during a storm. And the Cooney's of course.

Years ago they didn’t allow me to comment - no idea why or when it happened. I rarely go to their site. Do have the app and the writing and headlines there are atrocious. I do like the radar.
Kelley, Metinka, and Eric Hanson only local TV people I can stand. Usually just get all news online now. I haven’t watched WOI in ages so maybe it is better. Refuse the John “Clowns” Sears show with Andy “Cyclone Fans Abuse Their Children” Fales.
Fales should go back to st. Louis or move to iowa city. Sears... if I never see that guys face again it'll be too soon.
Kelly Moody is my favorite. Just seems like a genuinely nice person, always happy and doesn't block the eastern side of the state like Jeriann.
