I'll give you points for this one... After 3 practices it sure beats Clones21's prediction that he will transfer to Iowa.
Actually Lanning was also on varsity as a freshman and played a lot of running back before going to qb, and you're right, he's got plenty of arm strength. He will be one of the more interesting players to follow to see where he winds up. He could develop into a Klein type qb, or be used as a bigger version of Woodly that could also pass. Maybe even at tight end. He played very little defense his last couple of years at Ankeny, but he had a brother that was a great linebacker and with Lanning's size and athletic ability, he could probably make the switch, but I would think they would want to do it early in his career if it's defense. My guess is he will be given every opportunity to develop as a qb this year, then the coaches will decide if his future is there or another position. But he's just too big and athletic not to help somewhere.

The only reason I think this isn't closed is because CF's advertisers have decided they can survive without Clones21's page hits, and they just want him to leave.
