Well, hell, I guess I should just put back on my Cardinal and Gold glasses and just proclaim we are going to win the conference and get to the final 4.

Since when in sports is pointing out a flaw in the team you support means you are negative about the team? This is just another example of the PC **** that I am really getting tired of.

We struggle rebounding the ball, we struggle hitting foul shots down the stretch, sorry you do not like the truth, and no it does not make me less of a fan to admit it.
Every team has weaknesses, and its up to the coaches to fix the problem if they can. Lets quit debating and beat WV on Wednesday.

Thank you for the belly laugh.

EDIT: With two road wins over ranked teams, I've got no complaints. We're really good.

At KSU is the only game remaining I’m chalking up as a loss. I don’t think we’ll end up winning the rest of the games, but @KSU I think is the hardest. Texas and OU are not that great and I think for the most part play in to our strengths. And maybe I should be more worried about TCU than I am, but for whatever reason, I’m just not.

I'm not chalking that up as a loss at all. ISU tends to play decent in the octogon of douche, plus we have a bye during the week before that game, so we have 7 days to prepare. ESPNs BPI gives us a 60% chance in that game.

I think the most difficult game remaining is at OU. It's on a Monday, and we haven't seen them yet this year. Hard to prepare for a road game in one day against a team you haven't seen yet.

I don’t care so much about winning the Big 12 because I know that it is a really hard thing to do (unless you are KU). I also think it could be a bad thing if we put too much emphasis on it. I just want us to focus on improving each game and be playing well come March. I think we could be a scary team in the NCAAs.
Let's just avoid Villanova. They're back, and could win it again.

After that stinker they laid at A&M I feel better about our chances but it's a road game and funny things happen on the road.

I want to see how things look Wednesday. Not just in a win but see if what was out there today continues at least in the flow (they won't shoot as well).
To me it seems like Prohm has figured out how to beat the Huggy Foulers - just play with our normal good spacing and share the ball well with very minimal dribbling - seems to drive the mountainears crazy as their fouls are then pretty obvious.

. I think you knew what I was talking about. We all know what Kansas is talking about when they boast about their streak, too.
You were hardly the first person to use that phraseology. Thus the “you guys”. Plural and repeatedly. If it had just been one person misspeaking, I would have ignored it.

Seriously. Breaking KU’s streak would be nice. Great, even. I’ll still take the championship every time. Regular season would just be frosting.

Hasn't he beaten them like once?

Totally different WV team this year. They seem to be coming around a bit, but we have a big advantage in the guard court to say the least.

Not saying ISU can't beat them, just that there's not a lot of wins.

I think Wednesday will be tough but a good chance to see if ISU can keep it going.

You have it backwards. The Big 12 Championship is determined in Kansas City. Not sure why you guys keep minimizing it.

The regular season title is nice. Congrats to KU on their streak. But the NCAA allows every conference the freedom to choose whether their regular season record or the conference tourney determines the official conference champion.

Because the official conference champion is the one that gets the automatic bid to the NCAA Tourney.

Take a wild guess which one the Big XII designates as their official champion?

I think we have a great shot at being Big XII Champs again this year. And a good one at winning the regular season, too.

I'm so glad you brought this up, because clearly you and I are in the minority. In what other American sport is it more important to be the regular season champion than the champion at the end of the playoffs? Its absurd that the regular season has so much prestige in college basketball. Do you get a ring for being the regular season champion? What about an automatic bid? No to both, yes for the tournament champion.

Mind boggling.

We should win easy.

That’s what ranked Maryland prob thought when they got beat by bottom-tier Illinois, a team that both us and Iowa blew out. . Just sayin.... never underestimate the Huggies...or any big12 foe for that matter. Hopefully we bring it and your expectation becomes fact.

Because for other than a few rare cases, in power conferences the conf tourney winner was already in and at most is a one seed bump, so it rarely determines a bid.
Plus it's the difference in getting hot for a weekend vs being good over months.

Uh, yeah, you actually do get a ring for being the regular season champion.

The only thing that matters is winning tournament games. Guess what's the closest to NCAA Tournament? The conference tournament.

Winning 3-4 games over 3-4 days tells me more about a team for the next week than playing a game every 3 or 4 games over the course of 2 months.
