That is one example when we did, great win. Now tell me how we grinded it out against Baylor and K State. You look at the box scores and you keep seeing one stat that comes up over and over, that we are poor at and its rebounding. Against Baylor we gave up 10 offensive rebound to getting four. In the Iowa game we were out rebounded 44 to 24, in the K State game 39 to 31. In our five losses we were out rebounded in four of them.

Yesterday we had two times were we gave up 2 offensive rebounds in the same series, each time Ole Miss scored. When you shoot 69% you do not have many offensive rebounds but we still gave up 10 more than we got on the offensive side, overall we did out rebound Ole Miss. by 6 on the strength of our defensive rebounding which was 29 to 13.

Right now we are 15-5 and 4-3 in the league, but we all think we really should be 6-1 with our only loss on the road to Kansas. We gave away 2 games we should have won against Baylor and K State.

If you absolutely positively must find something negative to say at this point, we're not going to be able to deter you. Try to enjoy what has been a very good bounce back season, and what could turn into an excellent one.

Most teams are going to lose some games they think they should have won in our the B12. The difference from top to bottom in the league is not very great. Kansas losing at WVU proved that

Well, hell, I guess I should just put back on my Cardinal and Gold glasses and just proclaim we are going to win the conference and get to the final 4.

Since when in sports is pointing out a flaw in the team you support means you are negative about the team? This is just another example of the PC **** that I am really getting tired of.

We struggle rebounding the ball, we struggle hitting foul shots down the stretch, sorry you do not like the truth, and no it does not make me less of a fan to admit it.
Every team has weaknesses, and its up to the coaches to fix the problem if they can. Lets quit debating and beat WV on Wednesday.

I was upset as anybody at those 2 losses but it's time to move on. We have been playing really good basketball the last 2 weeks, and its inevitable that we will probably lose a couple more games this year in similar fashion. I've seen enough Big 12 basketball to know every game is going to be a dogfight.

As much as everyone thinks we are going to blow by Texas, Oklahoma, TCU, and West Virginia on the road, I would be happy with a split there and the win the rest of our home games. This team can still absorb some losses and end up as a high seed in Des Moines.

There is zero harm in discussing something the team could improve on. Zero. This unwritten rule on CF where everyone must be positive and encouraging all the time and never point out shortcomings is kinda dumb, Pride. I didn't take his post as being a negative nancy, rather a "Gee, this team doesn't rebound well, it's been our achilles heel in our losses. I hope they can improve in that area so they can knock KU off and make a deep run."

If he was saying we'll never go anywhere because we don't rebound... first day exit from KC, first round exit in the NCAA because we don't rebound. Pack it up, boys. We aren't going to win because we can't rebound. Sure, I could get on board with telling him to shut his trap. But he didn't do any of that.

Meh, to me, it’s timing.

If the team has been playing really well for a brutal four game stretch, and comes out of it in great shape, and you’re still talking about everything that is wrong (and little else), I feel for you.

CSP knows very well what the strengths and weaknesses are on this team...you can see him making small tweaks every game. It's the reason why his teams continue to improve, especially as February comes around. This is now a very difficult team to plan against...with 7 strong players and an additional 2-3 that can come in and get minutes.

There is a reason that many of the talking heads are touting ISU...they see the talent and what the talent can do when they are playing together. It's also why they are a very strong road team...yesterday showed that when Ole Miss pushed their defense way out towards half court. We simply waited for the lanes to open and produced easy bucket after easy bucket. I think teams have no choice but to clog the middle on us and hope that we don't hit three's...too much talent that spreads a defense and creates clear lanes to the basket.

I was still amazed at how many times we had a wide open Jacobson or Lard underneath the basket to feed to.

I think a lot of it is still knowing we haven't hit our ceiling yet. It's what fans do. We want to continue to see progress, especially with March still a ways away. He doesn't seem like one of the guys that only shows up to put down the team when they're not doing well.

I was pleased with the game yesterday, but was still yelling at my TV at a couple of the putbacks we gave up.

I'm very positive, but I'll still tell you their rebounding sucked yesterday. Prohm said the same.

If we go 15-3 in conference like that, we are probably Big 12 champions and at least a #3 seed in the tournament, maybe even a #2 with a good showing in KC.
You have it backwards. The Big 12 Championship is determined in Kansas City. Not sure why you guys keep minimizing it.

The regular season title is nice. Congrats to KU on their streak. But the NCAA allows every conference the freedom to choose whether their regular season record or the conference tourney determines the official conference champion.

Because the official conference champion is the one that gets the automatic bid to the NCAA Tourney.

Take a wild guess which one the Big XII designates as their official champion?

I think we have a great shot at being Big XII Champs again this year. And a good one at winning the regular season, too.

Oh, come on, I think we all know the highest goal is ending KU's regular season streak. I am sick of that thing. I love the Big 12 tournament as much as anybody, but consistent performance over 18 games in a home-and-home round-robin proves more than the results of a single-elimination tournament over a few days where you pay 3-4 games.

I know what officially gives the auto-bid, but I think you knew what I was talking about. We all know what Kansas is talking about when they boast about their streak, too.

I like ISU to win the conference because of what happened yesterday. Only one Big 12 team won on to the road in the challenge. KU and WVU had really tough games, but the other two whilted. If they can get Lard and Wigginton to play at last year's level the Clones will be really tough to beat.

I love this team when we move the ball. In every one of our Big XII losses we had a stretch at the end of the game where we just stood around watching Nick dribble the ball in one spot until the shot clock gets down to single digits. Then we frantically tried to get everyone to start moving but the defense now is well rested and only needs to stop us for a few seconds. We eventually throw a bad pass, get trapped trying to drive the lane, throw up a desperation shot, or get a shot clock violation. Maddening. With the depth we have there should be no reason we don't push the pace for a full 40 minutes.

I have no problem with ISU using a little clock when they are up by 12 or so, but clearly they are not a team that can start the offense with 10 seconds left on the shot clock. Maybe they need to start at 15. Totally agree that ISU need to keep pushing the ball and scoring in transition as much as possible. Just not a good half court team.

I was okay with this yesterday, as limiting possessions down the stretch helps to preserve the big lead. But what was refreshing yesterday was that we would wind the clock and still score after getting a good look. Need to continue that the rest of Big 12 play.

This isn't the SWAC, regular season means more to our NCAA tournament seeding.

This is a nice sentiment, but why would you use up your auto bid on the regular season champ, when you could potentially have a team that otherwise wouldn't be in make a run and add to your conference numbers? I'd much rather win the league than the tourney.

Unless you're a Duke, Virginia, or Tennessee you got some flaws. Ours appears to be off rebounding and defending dribble penetration. Those I think are due to our four guard lineup than anything else.

MJ has been a revelation but he's not a rim protector. Lard is. If he didn't get a foul a min VS KU we prob win that game. If Wiggs didn't have the worse game of his career we prob win that game. .

We may have some flaws but there are about 8 teams in the B12 that wished they had what we have. For about 95% of all college teams you got to use what you have to overcome some of those flaws. So give up some off rebounding and dribble penetration in favor of more offensive firepower and defensive versatility on the perimeter.
