Since I read the thread of trivia I thought that I'd add some of my own...

Who kicked (and the team) the longest field goal in Jack Trice/Cyclone Stadium?

Bonus questions about that kick:

What date was the kick?
What was the kick-off time?
Which quarter did the kick come in?
Which direction was the kick attempted/made?

IF you can answer ALL of these - well, you don't get any prize - but you may have been at that game or somebody who was there told ya...or...you are just plain lucky to get all the answers right!

Good Luck!

I'm sure it's wrong but I watched Crosby put a 57? yarder on the roof of the Jacobson building in 05. Might not be the longest on record, but probably one of the most impressive kicks I've seen.

This. I was at the game. The kick was ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that was the longest kick (unfortunately not by a Cyclone).

It was aided by a very strong wind, but I was there too and didn't think he'd be able to put it on the Jake from that distance......but he did.

from what i've seen, its difficult to put extra points on top of the jake, let alone a 57 yarder

Give up?

Who kicked (and the team) the longest field goal in Jack Trice/Cyclone Stadium?
A: Dave Lawson - Air Force

Bonus questions about that kick:

What date was the kick?
A: September 10, 1975
What was the kick-off time?
A: 1:10 p.m. (If I remember right it was printed on the ticket as 1:10 p.m.)
Which quarter did the kick come in?
A: 2nd quarter
Which direction was the kick attempted/made?
A: Kicking to the North and there was very little wind that day...It was just plain HOT!

IF you can answer ALL of these - well, you don't get any prize - but you may have been at that game or somebody who was there told ya...or...you are just plain lucky to get all the answers right!

Thanks for playing...more to come if you wish!

Good Luck![/QUOTE]

I remember Ty Stewart kicking a 57 or 59 yarder in the early 90s, which I think is tied for the longest ISU one.
