I'm coming in from Minneapolis for the Iowa State vs. Iowa game this weekend and need to pickup some ISU gear for my two daughters (ages 5 & 3). Any suggestions on where to find inexpensive kids ISU clothes? Thanks in advance!

If you are going through Ames, Strawberry Patch at the mall is probably the cheapest. Buy big because their stuff shrinks. Other choices in Ames would be the University Bookstore (probably the priciest, but most girly options) and Cy's Locker Room on South Duff. I'm not sure where to go outside of Ames. The last shirts I bought for my younger girls (7 and 16 mo) were fom the bookstore.

You could also order from cy's locker room online and have it there by the time you leave maybe?

Strawberry Patch does have a good selection and great prices, but you'll have to go to the mall.

Cy's Locker Room is very easy to get to from I35, too. It's right off of US30, in front of George White on S. Duff. If you're a Nat. Cyclone Club member, there's a 10% discount. You could get in and out of Ames in a half hour or so.

I'm assuming your route will take you down 218. A couple places you could try are Decker Sports in Mason City and Scheels in Waterloo.

If you are coming down I35 to I80, the TJ Maxx in Ankeny across the way from Kohl's and Target always has some good, cheap ISU apparel.

Hy-Vee normally has some good stuff. They always have a section for it all, but it gets bigger around rivalry week.

If that's his best bet, he can prolly get as much in Minneapolis, and it's not going to be inexpensive.

For inexpensive, if you're cutting out at Mason City and jumping on 218 (which I'd recommend over coming all the way down to 80 on 35, I have in-laws in the TC), locally here in the IC area, there's a TJMAXX in Coralville as well, and they do have some ISU stuff. Ain't been in there recently, but I know the wife got something for our 2 year old last year or the year before.

Another option, depending on when you're getting in town, if you can stomach it, I heard the Fry Fest will have ISU vendors. Not sure if it'll be cheap or what they'll actually have, but they've been saying it on the radio that they're having ISU vendors.

Links for more information on Fry Fest:

Schedule: (looks like 10 AM to 8 PM is the tradeshow...assuming this is where the ISU vendors will be) Schedule of Events - FRY fest

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I think I'll try Target or Hy-Vee first then some of the other options. Definitely NOT Fry Fest. :)

If you are going through Waterloo/CF area, my experience has been that selection at Scheel's/TJ Maxx/Gordmann's in those towns can be somewhat limited (although I believe I've seen clothes there in the sizes you're talking about), but typically you can get some real steals because everything is so geared towards moving the Hawk/UNI merchandise. UniversiTees usually runs some good BOGO t-shirt deals too and has some OK looking ISU stuff.
