Ok, what do you think the line will be for next week?

I'd say Iowa will be favored by about 17.5, but they should be favored by about 28.5.

Worst thing is, I have to be there to witness the beat down. Hopefully I can be out of there by the half. I don't know how much I can take.

If it is a beat down, anyone who has ever watched these games with a critical eye would be shocked.

Iowa is a developing team on both lines, and safeties. If they don't show improvement by next week, you could easily see an upset.

And then we'd have to listen to low class fans from both sides and their insightful football analysis.

EDIT - It doesn't matter who the better team is, it matters who the better team for one game is.

I'd assume around 3 Td's. I they put up 45 yesterday. I'm not sure if ISU could put up 45 on anyone.

I caught a glimpse of their game...they looked solid. Miami of Ohio had a nice drive so it's obviously possible to move the ball. But Miami is better than ISU so hard to say.

My hope is for ISU to stay injury free and then improve later in the season. If ISU comes out and plays flawlessly and wins or something it only fuels the 'Super Bowl' theory which leads to mouthbreathing Hawk fans being louder than if they get their way with a win.

Thanks, but I'll take a flawless win regardless of how the Hawks might react.

If it's consistent with the rest of the season, sure. Not flawless, but at least looking like ISU understands football.

I think the line will be easily 20.5 the loss to UNI, it's @ Kinnick, and ISU has a new coach. This game will be closer than the Vegas lines indicate. I predict it will go up 2.5 or so throughout the week with Hawk money coming in on wheelbarrows.

Beathard is going to shred us. They're going to pound pound play action all day it's gonna be ugly if it's another 3 and out turn over fest on offense.

My dad (Iowa fan) went to their game yesterday and he says that they left that game expecting to lose to us. Obviously our game changed that a bit but still. He says their line play is awful so I think that will be key. I honestly thought we played decently except for our line and QB. Their poor line play should allow us to do a bit better. If our offense can actually do anything that should help the defense too. As much as it shouldn't be the case I thought they played well but by the end they were gassed.

I expect the game to be fairly close but I'd guess the line is something like 14.5

How in the world did you think they look solid? Defense played pretty poor, mabin was god awful. Miami of Ohio even had more total yards. They scored higher then their season average last year and they play in the mid-american, I mean cmon. Offense looked okay they had a steady run game but they have mediocre wide receivers. My guess is that you didnt watch the game but only looked at the score not knowing that miami had 3 fumbles and got screwed on a call where they should have turnover.

With one or maybe two exceptions this is the worst team we will play for the rest of the season. Give me the Cyclones. Why? Because nothing ever makes sense.

THIS !!!
.....HONESTLY...WHATEVER SPREAD IS AND NO MATTER HOW BAD IT LOOKS ..."TAKE THE POINTS AND THE CLONES AND UNABASHADLY TAKE A TEASER THAT IF CLONES BEAT SPREAD THEN PUT ALL WINNINGS ON THE "MONEY-LINE"....
.....HONESTLY, THIS STRATEGY WORKS MORE THAN NOT.... GEORGE COSTANZA , "JUST DO THE OPPOSITE" !!!!

Whatever it is I would definitely take the under. Iowa looked really good running the ball and CJ looked like CJ. Their front 4 on defense looked uninspired or flat out poor...with exception of our decommit Anthony Nelson who was an absolute stud against the pass. He had 2 forced fumbles.

If we can keep Lazard away from King we should pass the ball well. Mabin is awful. King was a total stud but for some reason Iowa doesn't try to line him up against the other teams #1 guy.

Yea. Parker is gonna have to scheme to have King on AL as much as possible or give Mabin safety help. If Mabin is alone on an island with Lazard all afternoon it could get ugly.

13.5 is my guess. I guess we get beat by 3 TDs but history would say take us with the points, which is what I'd do if I was betting.

The offensive line needs to get better for ISU to win. All team has do to beat is follow UNI's game plan of shut down the run and win at the line of scrimmage. I would like to see the tight ends and the running backs protect the QB more, allowing for more of a passing game. If there is more a passing game it opens up the run game, which in turn reduces pressure on the line.
