ISU football uniform prototype, help needed...

Here is a really good prototype football uniform design, for 2017 or beyond, IMO. It is the result of over 2 years of following the uniform threads, all the suggestions of designs, color, logos, etc. A lot of work has been put into it. It has truely been an evolution of many different designs, concepts, ideas, but I think this is the best yet, and lends itself to multiple color combinations. Any future design will maintain the official color scheme, and the I-State logo.

Take a look, keeping in mind that the depicted color may not be quite right; the color of this design, or any adopted design in the near future, will be the current cardinal/gold that we've had the last 9 years or so, or so I've been told. What I am suggesting is that if you like this design, contact the AD and coach Campbell, and briefly voice your opinion, sort of a grassroots-type movement.

Still looking for your suggestions/input.

If you do wish to contact the AD (Jamie Pollard) and Coach Campbell via e-mail, be brief and include a couple of pics. I know they will not consider random pics of other designs or ideas, so please be specific to this design concept here only, if you like it. They are not soliciting our input, and we have kind of run the spectrum on many different uniform designs, ideas, logos, in the past, and they will not want a re-hash of all that.

From talking w/ the AD in the recent past, the I-State logo is here to stay, and will not be changing anytime soon, which I am in agreement with. So please do not bring up the ideas of any new/old potential secondary logos. Save that for another day. Again, any new uniform change will stay w/in the current official color scheme, red/yellow, cardinal/gold, whatever you choose to call it, and then it will be up to the new coaching staff, w/in those set parameters. So don't bring up the changing of colors to something you might prefer. It will not be considered. Save that also for another day, if you want to fight that battle.

I believe they might already have picked out our uniform design for 2017, and that's fine. But it still might not be too late for this latest design concept to be considered. I think it is a very good one, one that could last a long time. Consider this a grassroots effort, kind of like contacting your Congressman or Senator. As I have said before, the AD and Athletic staff do not frequent CF looking for our ideas and input, especially this time around. They don't read or listen to the whims/opinions of folks on CF anyway, as it probably should be. They will need to hear it directly from from you/us, one CFanatic at a time.

I like the uniforms except for the shoulder logo.

What would you rather see/suggest? What don't you like about it? That particular shoulder design was suggested by cyclones500. I liked it, so I went w/ it. What I wouldn't call it is any kind of "logo" as they would not be open to that. It is just part of this uniform design, extending the pant striping up to the lateral shoulder. When we thought about putting the player's number in there, we thought, well the "2" looks good, but what about "double digit" numbers?

We decided to just put an "S" in there, for uniformity. Then it kind of has a double meaning, 'I-S" for "I-State". I thought it was a great idea, but realize everyone might not agree.

I just don't want any gray at all, not even on the facemask for our cardinal helmet. I LOVE the red chrome facemask on the new white helmet and think we should also use that on the gold helmet (when we get one, which I think we will). On the cardinal helmet we need to either use a gold chrome facemask or the red chrome.

I'd prefer to only see the white helmet with the all white uniforms, looks bad with anything else, but that's just my dumb opinion. Toledo's all white uniforms were their best look IMO, but when they had the white helmet with anything else it looked awful.

So just add a gold helmet, and use only red or gold chrome facemasks, and have stripes down the middle of all helmets, and don't use any gray.... and I'll be happy. Everything else doesn't matter too much to me. I do like adding some white into the uniforms somehow. Makes things stick out better and look sharper.

I agree with most of this. Kill the gray completely, including facemasks.

Using white helmet only with all-white is my preference, too, although if you have an extra helmet option, it'd probably be used in other ways occasionally. Might be OK as white-cardinal-white, although that's not among my favorite combinations t-noah has posted.

And I still want a cardinal-white-cardinal — I'd actually split that 50-50 with all-white for road standard unis.

If we have new uniforms and they go with the same mustard yellow I'm going to jump off a bridge I swear..My guess is look at the new White Helmet..the Gold in that is different than we have ever seen..It's an actual gold..Yellow or mustard yellow just does not look good with red IMO. I like the uniforms you've done though..but I think they will have a gray version or black..

You've all seen this image, I bet. Not my design, but bringing it back up. This is the only image that should be put in front of Pollard and Campbell.

It has all the fundamentals to riff on with professional apparel designers:
-True red-hue gold (looks like they are already hinting at that with the all-whites this year)
-Streamlined logo (I-State cardinal stencil)
-Subtle nods to the past, modernized for the future (twister tornado, Trice stripes)
-Stripes minimal and under control (no throwing blocky color stripes on stripes on stripes like Ol'Miss!)
-No USC copy

You can throw in neutrals in blocks (a 1-1 swap of Cardinal or gold with a white, gray, maybe charcoal). These are your base uniforms. Then...let Nike go all Pro-Combat design on any alts after you have the base expectation decided and standard colors set.

Go for it. I have already done so, and I suppose amestoplease has also. Don't think it is happening though as it involves a change in the color scheme. But who knows.

Gotta say, I love the stencil logo on the helmets a lot better than the regular logo...especially on the gold helmets.

White is pimp. Flashy gold is pimp. Red is B.A. I can live with the logo not changing. The players LOVE this stuff. Who wouldn't? Super excited for the players and fans to get a taste of the 21st century. This team and coaching staff are going to put on a show, that is for sure.

Don't sweat it, t-noah. Some folks are just bustin' your balls a bit (and it's kinda funny). You're not the only one obsessing over uniforms, otherwise there'd be no action in these threads. I enjoy your contributions, as I'm sure plenty others do. Love all the combos. Thank you!

The S on the shoulder glaringly sticks out to me in a bad way and I can't get past it.
