So you're saying this program is 3-9 to 6-6 if the DC were performing at Manning's level? Agree, and that is why it is reasonable to expect some tough conversations to be had

You have such a low opinion of the program. Are you even a fan?

Fine, get the torches and pitchforks, and storm the Jacobson building demanding the change.

let us all know how it goes.

I don't know why you're so dug in on the "better things aren't possible" side. If Campbell thought as you do, Iowa State never reaches the heights they have recently. If the offense, returning essentially EVERY STARTER, continues to struggle, changes will be made in some form or fashion.

Can someone who knows more about football than me explain Manning’s refusal to ever place the QB under center? I would think it would be easier to run out of this set as the RB gets the ball quicker and is moving forward on the handoff.

Where did I say better things weren’t possible?

Hell, where did I even say Manning is good?

I’m saying that he’s not going anywhere as long as Matt Campbell is the coach. If you want Campbell to stay, then you’re going to have to learn to live with Tom Manning.

Now, if you don’t want Campbell here, then the solution to your concerns is incredibly easy.

We run a spread offense. Under center isn’t a thing in it. 85% of college teams run the spread nowadays.

I said it earlier, I just hope you're wrong on that I suppose.

There was no Brock Purdy, it was all Hakeem Butler and Montgomery that made this kid look good. Like seriously he has not improved since those guys left. It’s been bad or mediocre play year after year. On a brighter note though, maybe we get to keep Coach Campbell for long but Jesus Christ he needs to go get an offensive coordinator.

Manning is a good position coach but not a good play caller. Can we keep him on as TE coach? Keep Scheelhaase as the RB coach, and bring in an OC who is also good at coaching WRs? The WRs need to learn how to get open. On defense, maybe get rid of Caponi and hire a ST coach. We really don't need two DB coaches. Broomfield can probably handle coaching the corners and safeties.

Seriously another damn near shut out by Heacock and the defensive side of the ball given up by a turd of an offensive showing and play calling at times... hell I know I received a suspension here for calling out Prohm a few years ago like this but it is more then time for this.. the offensive issues against UNI and then Iowa today as well as other big games have always been questionable at best.
On Twitter, Sage Rosenfels was very critical of our offensive scheme against Iowa’s defense.
I am not smart enough to understand, but Sage has a pretty good FB mind.

Did he delete tweets? I don’t see anything like that from him now.

campbell has earned the right to call his own shots and he's been willing to fire Toledo guys (the old strength staff) if he thinks he should.

But I will say this, god forbid if Campbell leaves after this year, you don't ******* hire Manning as his replacement.
If this season turns really bad and we don't make a bowl game with 20 seniors ...Manning will be leaving with Coach Matt Campbell for greener pastures elsewhere!
