I swear to God, it feels like he's stuck in 2003 when he calls a handoff inside the tackles on every 1st down. Breece should get a lot of work, but the touches he's getting are doing him no favors.

Not to mention it seems like the only pass plays he knows how to dial up are either A) deep bomb that’s either a contested catch or an arm punt or B) 2 yard out

It’s ******** and it’s what may ruin Campbell. When Rhoads got fired where was he the head coach of? Oh wait that’s right he didn’t get a head coaching job.

Somewhere in there, there had to be a time when they've told Purdy 'Just get the ball to what's available to move the chains' and it doesn't stick. The ISU drinking game should include a lofted pass on 2nd down when there was a much more manageable yardage available elsewhere.

He got jumpy and that was it. And Iowa knew that's all they had to do.

Last year we had the crossing routes as a great option. Have we had a single one the last 2 games?

Is there time for them? Does ISU have the personnel to run it effectively?

Not arguing, these are the thoughts I have when I'm looking for those types of plays.

I voted maybe because it's impossible to know how much is coming from Manning and how much is coming from Campbell. Picking a new OC, if he's being overconstrained by the HC, may not get us anywhere. On TV you could see Campbell yelling into the headset several times after stuffed plays, but you can't tell what he's saying. So you don't know if he wants things opened up more or wants more inside zone rushing.

After years of people here saying we need to stop throwing it short and throw more deep jump balls/50:50 balls to our tall WR...

I don't mean to call you out specifically, but there are a ton of posters who will always be mad with whatever we do. Listening to them every week is exhausting.

Haha, I've been calling for less 50/50 jump balls the last 2 (now 3) years because ISU doesn't have a Butler to make up for the under thrown ball and Purdy basically throws a punt on those plays.

He's at his best when it's just a game of catch and as soon as he starts to have to make decisions it goes south quick.

Seriously another damn near shut out by Heacock and the defensive side of the ball given up by a turd of an offensive showing and play calling at times... hell I know I received a suspension here for calling out Prohm a few years ago like this but it is more then time for this.. the offensive issues against UNI and then Iowa today as well as other big games have always been questionable at best.

Are you ready to move on from Matt Campbell?

because unless he gets another job to move up, Matt will never let him go. He will go with him.

It's hard to trust the process when we have virtually every starter back on offense and they play like they haven't seen the playbook yet. Today was just embarrassing as far as the offense was concerned. They should have let the D play both sides of the ball.

Candle was OC while Campbell was at toledo

And he got the Toledo job.

Tom Manning was o line the Toledo staff, he was among the very first hires when Matt took the Iowa State job.

Matt trusts him completely, he coached him at mt Union. He was one of his first hires at Toledo.

Tom will be gone when Matt is.

So don’t tell me about his ******* resume. He didn’t have ANY OC experience before this stage, which is a bad hire for this important position.
