Interesting thought...Our best coaches did it with guys who had character flaws.

Fizer - gun arrest
Tinsley- Mutliple run ins with the law
Pratt- chased by cops out of the Des Moines Dragons game
Vroman- Drugs
Homan- multiple arrests

Jerome Harper was signed- charged with murder

and a million guys who never made it academically.

This is what will get him canned. Take a look at Hilton these days, many seats left empty.

Hoping for better results and for crowds to return next year.

BTW, what is Hornacek doing these days?
 
Well is Chizik still here? So far I would say McD is at least loyal to us, what did Chizik give us? Certainly not even loyalty and definitely not wins.
 
im just throwin this out here but for anyone who doesnt know we have a better record on the road at kansas than on the road at colorado

4 coaches in a short time span??

1.. Tim Floyd- Left for the NBA.. Can't blame him
2. LE- two conference champs- couldn't see the alcohol problem coming
3. WM- We said he had no class?? He had a scheduling thing, and he didn't really coach. More or less he was just there and recruited and won
4. Chizik-- I guess your talking about him too.... I wasn't one of the people saying he was full of class and praising him to being the second coming of christ on message boards.

If these are the 4 you are talking about.... Take out Chizik and you will notice we have conference championships, tourny champs of big 12 and we protected the home court and won games on the road for the most part.
 
We HAD wins, but LE lead to WM whom lead us to the huge hole we're in now.

Chizik left us before achieving anything but ticket sales.

So yeah, we HAD wins but we're paying a big price for them now. It's not what have we done, it's what can we do and where can we go.

What does "class", or lack of, have anything to do with Tim Floyd not being our coach? He simply was paid big bucks to try his skill out in the NBA.

It has nothing to do with "class". Greg needs to crank up his recruiting and the rest will take care of itself.
 
I didn't say anything about Floyd. Although, Floyd wasn't really classy by running of scholarship players just because he found somebody he liked better. He was a great coach and stupid to leave for a sure-failure, but that isn't part of what I was talking about.

And we still praise those teams... Players aside we still loved those teams and cheered on every win. I know I did... You probably did too.

Remember even Johnny Orr had players that got in trouble with the law. We loved his teams.

I don't like hearing... We have a lot of good kids full of character. That's just a cover up meaning they suck, but they don't get in trouble.

The problem is he has recruited so many guys who are clearly not Big 12 caliber. Brister, Vette, Dunson, Mann and the list is a lot longer most likely but we dont know yet.

You have so many guys still on scholarship and how can you recruit when spots on the roster are taken.

Neither one has won us a conference road game the last two years...

Loyalty is a much bigger thing if success accompanies it.
 
every team that has won at isu has played up tempo basketball. u would think that if mcdermott realized that he would change his style

That's what I was referring to. He has to improve the quality that he is bringing in, otherwise he/we are destined for the cellar.

People are advocating McDermott do the exact same thing for Barnes/Kelm/Ejim.

Jeremy.... Did you like the winning??? Did you cheer for those teams??

If so... Then why are we looking at them so negatively?? I would take any of them back in a heart beat.

By the way.... How did LE fiasco cause all this?? Because of WM?? Didn't he win also?? If BVD was our AD he would still be here, and we probably would still have terrible coaching but winning teams.

I don't know if Wayne had class or not... Pollard didn't want him. You could tell that from the start, and don't kid yourself. If you want to pin blame look at Pollard first... Not LE, and tying everything back to him.

Ever hear of a guy named Tim Floyd?

He played a very similar grind it out style, especially when he didn't have the level of talent he needed to succeed.
