You can keep throwing a new guy at the job every other year but until our fans wake up and give the guy time, they're going to be sorely let down every game.

Wake up people, give the guy time to bring in the same players from one year to the next and then judge him. Some people need to find other things to do than spend their whole lives ranting on a coach that has shown ten times more class and professionalism than they could ever muster over the course of their entire life.

Class and professionalism won't win you games, and in the Big 12, that's all that really matters.

To that end, recruiting is assistants more than anything. Wes wouldn't have been here without Jean, Craig wouldn't be here without TJ, and Colvin wouldn't be coming without Daniyal.

I don't know if McDermott can or can't succeed at Iowa State. I don't understand why so many people just assume that a guy that finished no higher than second in the MVC is GOING to turn ISU into a yearly contender.

And I don't see how you can sit here and constantly rant on GMac game after game after game when he's so far worked out better than Chizik, whom I expect you performed favors for due to how much you hyped him up so much even after some of the losses of the past year.
 
i kno we only have a small chance at getting HB and mcdermott is the only chance we have at getting him but why would we want the whole program to hang in the balance of 1 player. if we keep mcdermott too long and we dont get HB then what are we gonna do

Neither one worked out, but I'll lay down 100,000 CyCredits that Gene wins a postseason game before Greg does. :wink:

I still think Chizik is a good coach, and I think he'll be fine at Auburn. He may be a ***** for how everything went down here, but I still think he's a good coach.

I also haven't been near as over the top as you make it seem.

I'm sorry... I'm getting sick of the "He's doing this with class and building a team we will be happy with no matter the outcome"

I'll settle for Huggy Bear right now if we won 20 games a year for how many years he did in Cincy and only had what maybe 1 infraction in which he got caught??

Class and being professional isn't winning games and isn't filling up Hilton lately.

But will that be an ISU win that Chizik gets? I didn't think so.

And not being classes got us four head coaches in a very short time span. That worked out great for us.

Lose most road games by about 15 points and feel like we have been kicked in the jimmy one more time by life because his father played at ISU, his mother I believe works for ISU, and he has been a part of the Cyclone family for years.

He's worked out better than Chizik? FB is alot different than BB Jeremy.....
