Iowa State is ranked No. 24 in the latest AP Poll this week and will take on two top 20 programs on the road in its next pair of games.

Personally, I think we are better than #24. However, we have to show it to the national audience to get a higher rank. If we take care of business this week, we could be in the low teens, particularly as other teams start knocking each other off.

I don't think so, not until the offense gets a little more consistent. 24 feels right to me.

I like being ranked behind upcoming road trip opponents but I’m not really sure there’s a reason to be behind them or ahead of them. I think the entire top half of big 12 should be ranked all year and eventually just the standings after enough games get played.

Yea I think we're in the 15-20 range but could go on a hot streak and beat anyone

The most surprising thing about the AP poll is the fact 3 writers voted Kansas #1

At some point it’s who do you vote for because top two teams seem to lose when they get there.

If I’m a voter I’m putting a ceiling around 10th for Purdue as a program until they don’t totally suck in the dance some year.

Still not sure how good this team is this year, our offense is very hit-or-miss. I love the energy and the defense, but we need reliable scoring to get through all the tough games in this conference. Past 2 years we started off well then hit a wall after teams played us twice.

Well I guess that is a good thing about the unbalanced schedule we don't have to play everyone twice.

We should be higher than 24, but there's plenty of time left in the season to move up. The most baffling part of the poll is that Houston lost twice last week and only moved down four spots. I thought Houston would be much closer to 10.

Sure they lost twice, but were in both games late with chances to win, on the road, against ranked opponents. I remember a year under Johnny I believe we were undefeated in Hilton, yet winless in the road in the conference. The road is tough.

They remain analytically #1 and lost two tough road games. #5 feels accurate.

If #5 is accurate for Houston, shouldn't that make us seem better than #24? I get that Oklahoma State is absolute butthole poopy fart bad and didn't help us at all, but a win over Houston and only 3 total losses should have us higher than 24th. It seems like high teens would be more fair.

We only have 1 premiere win. If we don't blow the lead to A&M then sure. But as of now, I think we are fairly ranked.

Hopefully KU holds serve this week and comes into Hilton ranked #3 or higher.
