Does anyone know where I can find the font that ISU uses? I am sponsoring my step-son's youth basketball team (in the Philippines) and they want to call themselves the San Andres Cyclones. I need to make a logo and want to use the same font that Iowa State uses.
I would also like to add this old-school ISU logo (minus the "Iowa State", of course) underneath the text...
Google "
Iowa State Cyclones Font" and download the the letters from any number of sites that appear. Increase the size and print off the indivual letters you need and take it to a trusted screen printer. Better yet, see if they can download the letters for you in order to cut out the middle man. They are free from the quick search I did.
You could also make your own document or template with the letters you need, depending on how minimally tech savvy you are. That way you don't have to get a print for each letter, just one for each jersey.
Any decent screenprinter can then send those letters in to their print supplier and get the custom prints for anything made for a fee (that you will have to pay for obviously). They will obviously need the correct amount for all the jerseys for every kids jersey that will be on the team.
These prints are not expensive, so even with the expected markup the price probably won't be that bad. My local screen printer downtown could easily do it relatively quickly and affordably, and I live in a stereotypical small small iowa town. Don't be afraid to shop around if you are in a bigger area.
As far as jersey selection goes, maybe check with the screenprinter you choose to see if they have experience with youth jerseys and what materials or manufacturers they have had good luck with. Quality of finishes product can be affected by the jerseys you order, so it might be helpful to get their opinion on the subject.
Good luck and congrats to you. I have 3 kids of my own, and I love to see other parents step up and get directly involved for all the kids on the team, not just your own!
