I guess those are somewhat fair concerns (except for the toughness questions. That's bunk. Find me a better and more willing blocker in this year's WR class, and he played through a lot of nicks and dings in his career).

The drops thing, I don't know. He did struggle at times but he was pretty consistent his senior year, and you could attibute his problems before that at least in part to the revolving door at QB.
The toughness thing would be really funny if I wasn't pissed that some people (maybe NFL folks, maybe not) think that.

Just browsing a Jags message board, they seem pretty happy to have him and some think he has a chance to see the field for them this year.

As a Colts fan, really pissed off at them for not drafting Lazard. They picked a couple of receivers in the draft including the kid from UNI. Absolutely crazy they did not pick Lazard in the late rounds.

Not a position I'd put a player at who 'drops passes' though ;)

We've seen it before, dropping fair catches is bad

...to expand on your point. As a Sophomore when he actually returned punts, he was awsome at it. I assume when he was a Jr/Sr, he was told by the staff to just fair catch everything because he was too valuable to get hurt. I don't remember him ever muffing anything either, so I think he could absolutely do it if necessary.

I doubt if he gets the chance. NFL teams want a burner returning kicks because there is so much speed across rosters in the NFL. Allen will never be a burner. There are a lot of other ways he can contribute, though.

I wasn't shocked that they took Fountain. He was one of their predraft visits. I did kind of laugh when Ballard talked about his vertical leap and how he could play bigger than he is and can really high point the ball. Dude, there's a guy down in Ames you should have taken a look at if that's what you want. I was surprised that Deon Cain fell to them in the sixth round.

I thought buying pizza for friends was the law when moving.

It really should be. One weekend my brother called me up out of the blue. He had agreed to help a friend move and completely effed up his knee. He asked me to help HIS friend move.

I'm not a jerk so I said ok. That dude's pull out couch must have had a cast iron frame and this dude was moving into a 3rd floor apartment. Worst move in I've ever been a part of and I had my kids that day and they had to entertain themselves in this guys apartment for a few hours.

I didn't get food or even a beer out of the deal. I still give my brother **** about that one.

That's just WRONG, man.

Pull-out couches: worst to move and worst to sleep on.

I know this guy was having a hard time, but damn that couch sucked. Of course having my literally lame ass brother watch us move and carring a few light boxes made it worse.

Look on the bright side...at least the pull out couch wasn't a piano.

Yeah, Mata'Aafa is another good one. I thought the Vikes maybe got a steal there. I don't know where he fits since he won't be able to play DT in the NFL at 250, but Zimmer's a creative coach. If the guy can get after the quarterback they'll find a spot for him. And he'll be a special teams demon in the meantime.
