In Memoriam: Ames Business/Restaurants

Es Tas has a legal notice on the door dated on Monday and it appears shuttered until further notice.
Looks like "Stan Tap" (sports bar?) will be opening in the old location of Es Tas. There is a sign up on the outside of the building & it looks like they are doing some work inside. It would be great to have something open in that location again.

I was like who's Stan but realized its for Stanton the St.

Anyone else check out Daisy's Dog House down by Fuji and the Mongolian grill? We stopped by a couple weeks ago, and it was very good. The menu isn't giant, but they have a large variety of creative, and huge, specialty hotdogs. Worth stopping by.

I see they are finally doing some work on the old US Bank property by the mall in north Ames. Can’t wait to have KFC only a couple blocks away from our house!

I definitely want to try that hot dog joint. It looks good from the pictures I’ve seen. I just hope they can survive there. It seems like every business in that location eventually shutters.

I went on a lunch once; it was a good food, but a bit pricy in my opinion as the hotdog was $15 without a drink. I was the only customer my whole time there, but from facebook it appears that they are busy at night and during events.

The hotdogs are big enough to share. Two people can easily get full on one of them. We split one with pulled pork, bacon, queso and BBQ sauce, and it was more than two people could eat.
