Our pastor recently gave a sermon on what it truly means to be blessed and how often people use it incorrectly. This is probably one of those situations.
Depends on who's doing the blessing. Not sure if getting "blessed" with a college scholarship offer is the same as being "made holy or consecrated".

These humble-brags get old. I am sure the schools want them to pump the offers, but it still gets old. #blessed is one of the worst humble-brags out there.
what is bad is the "I'm blessed to have recieved my X offer from XYZ school." Really, they gave you multiple offers? Must be forgetful.

dumb thread is dumb. i think the meaning is lucky to have received, grateful to have received. Dont think they are trying to tell anyone they are better than anyone. why does it matter to you what words they use

I get that these are just worded a little oddly, but they crack me up. "Blessed to receive 15th offer from _______ University!" Every once in a while it catches me off guard and I have to read it twice.
I don't mind the ones that say "received an offer from _____!" but when they put a number on it I get a little annoyed for two seconds (and then I move on with my life).
Well, some people think they need blessed for sneezing...so whatever. It's all pretty stupid. You got a D-1 offer from genetics and a lot of hard work.
ya what the hell is their deal...im sick and tired of them being thankful and grateful for the opportunity
