IF Tirell is right

Jon, instead of throwing mud against the wall regarding ISU's coaching search, shouldn't you be more concerned about Iowa going 0fer on about 10 kids they've offered this week?

Ooohhh snap...burn...whatcha say about that, Miller? :biglaugh:

Jon I appreciate your comments and insight a lot.

But you just put Edward R. Murrow and Tom Witosky in the same sentence, seriously?

Murrow brought down a man who was hell bent on ripping the United States apart, destroying it looking for the Reds, a great man and great journalist.

Tom Witosky uses his bowl of Alpha Bits to find leads

Ever hear of hyperbole?

I am not going to go into it, it has already come up in the cave, but if you have any interest in the subject, click here

Bader as crazy as tail gunner joe was all in all he was not far from the truth

Alright time for a good old hijacking.

I assume you are old enough that you lived through an era where Communists were a real threat. I can respect that and understand if that's the case.

There obviously has been a lot of research done on the Red Scare, especially since the Iron Curtain fell.

Almost all scholars and authors (outside of Ann Coulter...need I say more) who have scoured Soviet intel agree that none of the names on Joe's lists were card carrying commies.

I know that Alger Hiss is the one case where people feel he had contact with the Soviets, but outside of him...not so much.

Why jump on Jon Miller? He admits he's a hawk but he's usually pretty fair to the Clones, and of course he's going to be very involved in the discussion on the coaching search, if for no other reason it's part of his job. I enjoy his posts on here and he usually knows what he's talking about, and I think he knows Marty was talking to a pretty good source.

Ha, I like Jon's opinions also, I just thought that last post about the O-fer on recruits was funny. Just friendly rivalry. And if there is any merit to it, I will go out and say I listen to Jon's program.

Sigh. The phrase red scare is meant to assume that there were no reds. Um, sorry, there were. Also, the Soviet released intel you cite does more to confirm McCarthy's accusations than it refutes them. For more info, please click

I cannot stand by and let people assert things which are not true. I am not going to say McCarthy didn't go well beyond where he should have, but his basic premise was solid.

An era where Communism was a real threat? Communism will always remain a threat to freedom loving people throughout the world.

other than having poor taste in music, Jon Miller is a great American.

Its funny to hear dudes complain about Jon being a Hawk, then get pissy when he talks about the Cyclones. You cant have it both ways.

CNN Cold War - Then and Now: Red Scare revisited

I think Soviet archives actually prove that while not all of those pursued were communist agents, the Soviets had a massive program within the US looking at subverting our country through like minded and sympathetic individuals. It was their openly stated mode of operations.

Tirell is full of ****. Jamie Pollard will just shave his head again.
