How do you calculate games back when games can end in a tie? I know when you don't have ties, it is (diff wins + diff losses)/2. Do you just through out the ties since it's not a win, but it's also not a loss?

I've been trying to find the answer with google, but haven't had any luck:confused:

I'm trying to figure out the standings of the flag football league I play in at work.
You could run it like soccer. 3 points for a win, 1 point for each team in a tie, 0 points when you lose. Go by points with no such thing as "games back". It's just points.

Otherwise I'd say you need to ignore ties, but I don't know officially.

At the end of our 9 week season, there will be 2 teams that played 9 games and 9 teams that played 8 games. I think I will just drop the ties and use (diff wins + diff losses)/2.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.
