Hilton Food Options

I was able to get some tickets to the Chicago State game (assuming it actually happens) with some passes to Johnny's. Since the game is at 6:00, my wife and I won't have much time, if any before the game to eat even though we are getting off work early because we have to drop our kids off at a babysitter before going. I have never been into Johnny's. Do they have any food? I know concessions are sparse, but what other food options are there to eat at the game?

Johnny's has snack items (popcorn, nuts, chips) and a couple small entree-like items (small ham sandwiches, gyros, etc) that vary from game to game. They usually put out new items before halftime. At least that's what I know from my two times this season haha

Hot Dogs, walking Taco, popcorn, pop, boxed candy and Clone Cones. That has been the menu.

Kinda sad really, I have been to other venues over the last month, all have had plenty of workers and all or almost all concession areas open.

I haven't been in Johnny's post pandemic so don't know what they are offering now. They use to do free appetizers.

You could call the ticket office and talk to someone with the Cyclone club for the best information.

I would not plan on getting food in the coliseum outside of Johnny's. There are only a few stands open and lines have been wrapped around the corners

iowa game, they had some sort of grilled chicken wrap, hushpuppies and something else...so they do have food...

Eat before if at all possible. Pick something up on the way home from work… eat before you drop the kids off… eat on the drive to Ames… something. Trust me. You’ll be disappointed with Johnny’s and Concourse options - a piece of dry bread is better... It’ll ruin your experience if you are expecting anything.

Let's be honest, even the Johnny's food SUCKS.

If you are getting into Johnny's you'll be fine. It's nothing super great but compared with the 50-person lines in "regular Hilton" it's five-star dining. I've seen people leave to go get clones cones this year around halftime and come back with them with about 2 minutes left in the game. I don't know how someone does that.

Got ours yesterday at the under 16 timeout in first half. Went down at like 16:30 to beat the timeout rush and back in seat before play resumed. Was maybe 3rd in line to get the cone

It's unbearable now. Bringing kids to the game our strategy has always been to try to make it as long as possible before getting the concessions to be able to stretch out their attention. Last game we went to get clone cones before the under 8 timeout and didn't make it back to our seats until the halftime show was underway.
