Whats everyones thoughts of Hallie in the WNBA? I saw on one mock draft that she would go in the 3rd round to the LA Sparks! Would be kind of cool if she could make a WNBA Roster? Any thoughts? I think she could go earlier her size and ability to play on the perimeter could help her...

If she really wants to play I hope she gets a shot at the next level but I think the physicality would be too much for her given her thin frame. She'll be successful no matter what comes her way.

I don't think she has any shot at the WNBA. Not physical enough inside or quick enough outside. 3rd may be realistic, but those picks typically don't stick.

Anybody hear if Pop's health will allow her to play this year?

Seems unlikely. She tore her ACL at the end of January. The WNBA season is mid-May to Mid-August. That's 3.5 to 6.5 months after the tear. She's better off doing regular rehab and hoping to be back for the start of the WBNL season (starts in October: around 9 months post-tear).

She could even be a late 2nd. The roster size expanded back up to 12, so this is an excellent year to be in the draft. It's still an uphill battle.

I actually think she would make a great 3 in the wnba she has a nice touch and is very athletic I think she has a better chance of sticking then people realize

She would need to become much more aggressive, IMO. You can compensate for many things, including lack of quickness and/or strength, if you're really aggressive. Not sure that's in Hallie's DNA.

After seeing her move from small school Iowa to being a two time All Big 12 first teamer...I would never put anything past her when she wants to do it.

But that's still only one more player per team. 144 total roster spots in the league. There will be 36 draft picks.

How many non 1st-round selections end up making the opening roster?

Hallie's length/height and offensive efficiency will probably get some looks if she is interested. WNBA is a fickle thing. Size will continue to be a draw, as shooting guards abound.

Swish appeal listed these as the top forwards/posts: Chiney, Dolson, and Hopper and Thomas, Hallie, and Achonwa. I don't see Achonwa being drafted with the ACL tear, but who knows, maybe a team sees her valuable enough to sit her for a year.
