May have been this:

Rumor is surplus will be selling more extra athletic gear. I think athletics might have gotten tired of the yearly sale. They had football cleats this week. I think tennis shoes and track/cross-country spikes are coming up in the next few weeks. Also, sweatshirts and sweatpants will be coming soon, I heard. They want to set up an online system at surplus but have yet to get that set up.

Ah. Yeah. We picked up some stuff there last week. Men’s sizes are tough unless you are a 2X or bigger. Women’s stuff was good and plentiful in medium or larger. A lot of it still had tags on.

It was I saw it on twitter that they are trying out a few racks of clothes so I jumped on it.

Looks like they added stuff this week and are adding more. It was mostly warmups and women’s tennis stuff I think when we went. Admittedly I went to look for a chair and happened upon the racks of clothes. Similar to the week I went there to get a file cabinet and they were selling off pieces of Hilton floor. You never know what they will have. Changes every week.

Clearly I did not know the protocol of putting some sort of marker on the red dots. Got set straight by the regulars.

Grabbed a bunch of GF We Will Pizzas on the way out of town too. Good day to be a clone.
So what’s the red dot stuff?

When I worked early 80s summers at stadium grounds crew there was never a sale. Good times. Great job.

When I was in school I worked for the General Services department, which included Surplus. Sometimes I'd get assigned to help them go around campus and pick up whatever university assets people had decided were fully depreciated and could be replaced. Lots of junk, but some cool stuff. Mostly furniture and outdated/broken scientific equipment as I recall. I worked the sale from time to time as well, just before they relocated. Basically just sat around and helped people load stuff into their vehicles.

they have a series of red dots on the pavement and you put some sort of marker or stand on the red dot to make a line. I had no idea so I just walked up and got behind the five guys standing there and they showed me the dot system. Personally I think you should stand in line but I don't work at surplus so probably a good idea for them to keep the ruffians in line.
