Got me thinking about nicknames that really become half the name. Not alternative nicknames like Air Jordan or The Say Hey Kid, but new first names. Maybe more of an old baseball thing where you might not even know what their given name actually is.

Dong Dong - olympic gymnast if I recall correctly from the Brazil Olympics.

Those are two that immediately come to mind (I think the 10th grade boy in me found those names funny).

Moravia played an away game at our school when my older sister was playing. The Vice Principal sat in the student section to try and control cat calls at Fonda. The students were fine but adult men still felt compelled to yell crude things at a girl who couldn’t have been more than 16 at the time. My mom told off some jerk sitting behind us.
