What?! No one has brought up the various women in Charlie's Angels? Those were huge news at the time. First, Farrah then Kate Jackson a couple of years later.

I'd not even considered it because the conversation had turned to downgrades...

Cheryl Ladd just did it (does it?) for me. Favorite Angel and one of the most beautiful women ever. HUGE upgrade from Farrah, imo.

It was a great show all around. They didn't really "replace" actors while having someone play the same character they just replaced the character entirely like when they switched from Blake to Potter, Trapper John to BJ, and Frank to Charles. All the characters had there own different back stories and personalities and just like the real Army you could have personnel come and go throughout a war. I think it kept the show fresh throughout it's run.

A close college friend was a dedicated MASH watcher (both original run and in syndication) -- he didn't like Potter or Charles at at all compared to Blake/Frank. He still watched anyway, of course.

Yeah, that was one of the best scenes of the entire show. Apparently they did not tell the cast how that was going to happen so when Radar came in and read the note that was the first time any of them had time to process what happened so the reactions were real. The writing for the show was great, Alda especially as the shown progressed started to write and direct more episodes and I believe a few other episodes some other cast members has a part of the story and directing as well.

Actually the cast members say that was an untrue story. They didn't reveal the last page of the script to the cast until right before filming it but they read it right before the shot. The other part of that story is that Gary Burghoff (Radar) came in and knocked it out of the park but there was something technically wrong with the take. They never thought they would get a better performance for that scene but they reset it and shot it again and they say Burghoff might have been even better on the second take.

I've been watching that again lately it pushed the boundries pretty hard for network TV. It was really quite the story of redemption for him flawed but a redemption.

The Office went downhill hard after Carrell left, but it was trending down before he left anyway. I refused to watch later seasons of that show for years. Basically, once the "Sabre" storyline started, I would just go back to S1E1 and start over.

However, I have come to appreciate some of the later seasons as the years have gone by. I actually love the Robert California character and really enjoy those episodes.

Not a fan of cringe comedy. I tried watching it and there were parts that were OK, but it's just not my cup of tea. They try to make you feel embarrassed for one or more of the characters and that's a feeling I just don't enjoy. Maybe I have more empathy than most, but I just didn't care for it.

Coach/Woody and Diane/Rebecca in Cheers.

They were similar characters but Woody was really naive, and Rebecca was a weirdo like Diane but a total hot mess.

The good or okay:
I thought Rebecca on Cheers was actually a pretty decent replacement for Diane. It was a totally different dynamic - I think that's a better way to add in a replacement than just trying to slip in the same archetype and hope nobody will notice. Ann Veal always made me laugh on Arrested Development as part of the in joke that nobody would notice who she was. Nancy was a far more likely best friend for Roseanne than Crystal. Second Carol was better on Friends, as was the second Angie on 30 Rock.

The bad:
Robert Patrick killed X-Files for me - why even try to continue the show without Mulder? Second Aunt Viv on Fresh Prince was not good. The old gal with the spiky haircut replacing Mrs. Garrett on The Facts of Life. ER suffered hard when Clooney left and they brought in Dr. Luka - between that and Anthony Edwards, it was a pair of huge hits to the show. I love Sarah Chalke on Scrubs and Rick & Morty, but the whole first Becky/second Becky switchout was silly.

Last Man Standing replaced actors for both the Kristin and Mandy characters and have essentially now replaced the 3rd daughter Eve with a new foreign exchange student character. The change in actors for Kristin really didn't ruin the show because they did it very early in the series but when they replaced Molly Ephraim as Mandy with Molly McCook it kind of ruined the character for me because no only do they look nothing alike but the new actor isn't nearly as good playing the role and I swore they made the character even dumber than before.

Looking forward to the new and last season as they have already teased a trailer with Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor being part of it. They already had 2 other former Home Improvement actors have cameo appearances in the show so it would be cool if they sprinkled a few more in this season as there have been rumors that Tim Allen might be interested in a Home Improvement reboot.

They should replace Tim Allen. He is horrible. Can only play one character. And he is a piece of sh*t narc.

Cant believe this was the first mention of arguably one of the most famous swaps, Becky in Roseanne.

Once Phil Hartman died, NewsRadio was never the same. Jon Lovitz isn't funny. At all. So replacing Phil with Jon was a huge error IMO
