Always has been intense in her preparation and in life, I can see how it got to this point. Proud of her and the staff for making a change and battling it head on.

It could have gone a much different way. So happy to have her back this year and as a Cyclone forever!

My heart breaks for her. I hope that even though she was struggling at the end of last year that she was still able to take some joy out of an amazing year.

It's not like we needed another reason to love Emily Ryan, but we got another one.

I hope she has a happy and healthy last year, no matter what the season brings results wise.

Kids these days have so many mental problems and I think it starts with social media. My daughter is barely on social media and same with my son and neither have any issues. It’s a bad deal and eating disorders are usually a lifelong deal. My ex had body dismorphia and she was absolutely beautiful with a killer in shape body.

What a weird reply. Though I do agree that social media doesn’t tend to help these issues. But on the flip side, you’re seeing Emily’s message and others like it on social media now.

Just one more reason to say that Emily Ryan is not only one of the best athletes we have had, but very near the top of the best people from Iowa State. So much of our recent success and future success has her fingerprints all over it. I hope she knows she has tens of thousands of Cyclones behind her for life.

Social media certainly isn’t great and we could all stand to have less of it in our lives, but mental challenges happen to all types of people.

I hope we’re careful in our seemingly innocuous comments to NOT speculate on cause and effect of any of this.

Weird reply but I agree with you? That’s actually a weird reply
