I seem to recall Nicotene being used in some medically useful compound, back when I was a pharmacy tech. Don't recally precisely what it is, but I don't think it was for pregnant women....:no:

A girl my wife works with is 13 weeks pregnant, she claims the dr told her it would be best to continue smoking as it would be too much of a shock to her baby if she were to quit!

Yeah, not good, not good. The only medical diagnosis that I am aware of that smoking has actually been shown to be beneficial is ulcerative colitis. And even with that it is not recommended that you take up smoking if you have UC. However, if you are already a current smoker...go ahead and light up, it might improve your symptoms.

Not that I agree with second hand smoke...I don't, I hate it. But I think second hand smoke is very similar to Global Warming. It's widely accepted to be true, but there actually isn't any hard evidence that it is true, but everyone believes it to be true.
