DeJulius Thread: What I'm hearing

This is very strange. The comments on this tweet are speculating that. It just seems like a very strange thing for a coach to do before the player has even announced. If it is in fact true.

it’s not any different than when Campbell does the same exact thing.

Saw the Cincinnati coach tweeted the dancing Bearcat which apparently means they are about to announce a commitment. Radio silence from my source. Doesn't look good.
Sigh. I don’t understand this one, but good luck to him.

On to the next target!

Can we just keep our recruiting threads to recruiting? There's like 4 other mega threads you can debate Prohm in.

This seems about as efficient as we can hope for.

Deandre Kane committed late summer, no need to lose all hope after missing on early spring transfer. Lots can happen, trust the process.

I don’t disagree but wasn’t one of the reasons Kane committed so late was because he had to get some summer schoolwork in line to even be able to grad transfer? Not that that really changes the fact that we could still see that with other players yet this year but...

Another dumb comment, lets just continue to keep Prohm going forward and never hold him accountable for his guys he recruits, get suspended, his transfers in and out etc etc etc. Hes responsible for it all....your players dont execute? Guess who is responsible making millions....

Just so we are clear: Prohm gets all of the blame and none of the credit for anything that has happened since he became head coach at ISU? Is that your stance?

The team was a preseason top 10 team. It was a 3 seed the year before which means, by the NCAA seeding committee, that they were a top 12 team the year before. That team ended up having 6 guys play in the NBA(Niang, Nader, Morris, Thomas, Burton, and Mitrou-Long). You’ll never find another team in college basketball history, that had that much talent, and that much experience, underachieve as much as that team did. You’ll never find another team that had 6 future NBA guys that did as little as that team did. Anybody with two eyes and a functioning brain could see the talent in that team and how they underachieved severely with a lack of coaching. It’s not what happened in the tournament. Upsets happen all the time. Hampton beat ISU in the first round. No one questioned the coaching or thought the season was a disappointment. It’s the fact that team underachieved drastically during the regular season and it had a lot to do with Prohm.
That team also earned a 3 seed, it's not like completely they dropped off. Also, Mitrou-Long only played the first 10 games then shut it down due to his hip issues. Burton didn't start playing until half way through the year due to being a grad transfer. On top of that, Morris was playing at about 50% with a bum shooting shoulder at the end of the year which carried over into the NCAA tournament. That team's entire problem was depth, especially in the front court, not coaching, in my opinion. They had a great top 5, but pretty much nothing beyond that.

I realize you'll blame me for making up excuses, but all that stuff happened. Like, you can't claim we had an NBA player on the team in Mitrou-Long who didn't play a single Big 12 game or NCAA game that year. Even when he did play, he was no where near 100%, NBA caliber Mitrou-Long.

I am pretty sure I remember seeing his commitment come across my I phone while I was at the Principal Charity Classic which is more like late spring, but I could be wrong.

He gets 99% of the blame and I give him credit for some good things but his overall record and his failures far outweigh any positives. Good thing its the off season so you can do this without getting completely roasted for defending the guy.

The Hampton lose was coaching, Larry had run that team into the ground. You could see it in the quarterfinal lose the week before.

I'm assuming that the whole process will be open longer due to the effects of the pandemic as well. The NBA draft will certainly be pushed back, so some of those kids might have a decision to make (if they can return).

Tyrese coming back confirmed.

That is honestly a high index of efficiency by CF thread standards.

The "culture" around here is one of meandering conversations.
