DeJulius Thread: What I'm hearing

Forgot about Koreem Ozier. I would think that we have a good shot with him, but I really don't know.

Yeah I would think we would have a shot with him as well. Who are the others in the Top 6....Cal-State Northridge, East Carolina, New Mexico, Sacred Heart, us and Butler.

I’m not sure he’s really weighting what happened years ago (under two different staffs).

Not many coaches have a better track record of helping point guards become what he wants to become. Which ever team got DDJ would be the better team next year imo.

It's not years ago though. It's been every year for 9 straight years and this past one would have been 10. They haven't had a down season in recent history.

Non-Power 6 conference and you aren’t playing for the coach that went to those 9 NCAA tournaments.

Can you explain how 9 years isn’t years ago? Or 8? Or 7? Or 6? And so on. You can’t!

If 9 year records mattered, we’d already be full this spring! He’s looking at next year’s success and his personal success. Prohm crushes the latter, and whichever team landed him would have the advantage on the former.

More like 100%. We had him, and then Cincy convinced him to stay closer to home. He has to do what's best for him., but from a basketball standpoint seems like an odd decision.

If there was an "alleged" 90% sure thing that he was coming to Iowa State, I do not think the close to home aspect was the reason he's going to Cincy. Obviously, it wasn't 90%. He probably told Iowa State that they were his second choice, like he told every other school.

Hey, fun! We're into the blame the fans for reacting to the bad reality portion of the recruiting cycle. I'm surprised you can even see us from that high horse you're perched on.
I understand it comes off pretty high and mighty. For which I apologize. However, answer these questions: What does the negativity do for the program? How long are you prepared to suffer losing seasons before the new coach meets your expectations? What are your expectations? Will you pile on that coach too?

1.) What good does any message board talk do? Very little either way. There are slight positive indirect benefits to being positive or negative.
2.) Depends how deep of hole he/she inherits.
3.) Good coaching.
4.) If they show to be overwhelmed at this level, they’ll be appropriately commented on.

You should try supporting the program, not the just a coach!

Prohm needs to improve his staff and land players. It’s hard to see him being a part of this program without doing either. Hopefully both occur in the next couple months. There’s still time!

The passion ISU fans have for ISU basketball does a lot for the program.

The negativity is a result of that passion and the results.

The next step is apathy, which I think we can all admit isn't something we want for the program.

Cincinnati would have been a better addition to the B12 than WVU.
Eh, I could see both sides. But I'd argue WVU has been far more consistent in Football and Basketball than Cincy can claim. Yes, Cincy is always competitive in BBall, but other than a few outlying years, so has WVU. WVUs football has been more consistent in success, however. Cincy has their years in the top 25, and have been good recently, but there were gutter years in the American for them, too.

But I was for Cincy being brought in during the whole realignment talk, so I'm not saying you are wrong I guess. Just that WVU hasn't been a bad add competition wise.

Technically RMS Titanic sunk because of a glancing near-miss.

We're looking at this the wrong way. NOBODY would know what the Titanic was UNLESS is sank. Nothing but opportunity folks! I can see a musical, museum stuff, Ballard leading expeditions to find the missing ISU basketball program, maybe some paranormal angle - NOTHING but opportunity but we only win if we keep losing.

What closes first. This thread, or Prohm with a transfer.
