Dayton Invitational

3 things to look for in our 2nd weekend tourney:

1.) Higher level of play. Dayton and Pitt both made the tournament last year and will definitely be a step up in competition compared to last weekend. Coming out 2-0 would be huge for confidence and sprogress for this team

2.) 6-2. Will CJL continue to run the 6-2 offense? It looked clunky at times last weekend, which is expected with some new faces, but I believe it's the best way to utilize our hitters and Mauck.

3.) Serve & Serve Receive.
Our serving was definitely under par last weekend with 8 aces and 15 errors. Opening weekend is hard to judge as everyone is shaking off rust but I expect to see tougher serving this weekend.

I missed the first set. We must have played pretty well, though.

As bad as we played in the second set, it's hard to believe we won. Poor setting was some of it. We have to have the ball closer to the net for our hitters to have success. CJL is right, when we get out of system, things are just kind of breaking down. We just give up too many free balls.

There were some bad calls against us in the set, so to have it end with no call on the touch was okay with me.

It's great that Christy "Brown" got her 250th win!! Congrats coach.

I'm sure she'll have a lot to say to the team after they blew a 18-8 lead in the 3rd set to make it close? That was not good. I hope Miranda is okay.

To bad I just saw this. By the time I got to the video, it was over, the ladies were shaking hands, and the announcer was saying ISU clearly the better team. ISU 3-0 last set 25-22

Pitt was the team to beat Dayton last year in the tourney. It'd be great to get a big win against them tomorrow on the road, essentially neutral site, though. They are good teams. We just have to play better, as our conference is gonna be hard to play against. We can't have these lulls in play. Be consistent.
