Cy's Locker Room - Fail

So, right after the Big 12 Championship game, I do what I have done historically - order the championship hat from Cy's. I realized this morning that I had yet to receive the order and contacted them about it. I received the following email:

Good Afternoon,


Thank you for contacting us.

Ordered items were cancelled due to missing from inventory.


Should you need further assistance, please feel free to contact us.

Well, you can believe I am pretty upset with Cy's. Not only did they cancel something I had to have been one of the first to order, but they never informed me of this. So.....does anyone have recommendations on where I can purchase ISU stuff going forward? I am certainly not using Cy's again.

Not at all surprised.

They went FAST, I'll tell you that. I was at the Sprint Center store (after the game), and I was around the middle of the line. The hats there were sold out in 10 minutes, easy.

My wife won’t order from Cy’s Lockerroom after a several month back and forth to get me tent side panels. Got 1/3 and the other two were “back ordered”, then misplaced, finally she just asked for a refund. I think one more showed up a few weeks later...

My friend ordered an Arizona Wildcats cell phone case from Amazon and was sent an ISU case. He kindly gifted it to me.

What I would say is, still support the in-store Cy's Locker Room. Cy's Locker Room is run by Lids. So all online orders are fulfilled by Lids large warehouse system. That's the reason for the strange mix ups.

Sorry, can't do it. I contacted the store and they were unapolgetic in their responses to me. They didn't even refund me until I pointed out that they cancelled my order, but kept the money. Again, they cancelled the order, didn't tell me, and didn't refund me until I asked. I work in a customer service oriented business myself. When you make a mistake (as they did), you own up to it and make it right. Go above and beyond to make sure you don't lose business.

I ordered from Fanatics yesterday and received a tracking number, etc almost immediately. If Cy's really cared about my business they would have found a way to get more inventory to live up to the orders they accepted and accepted money for. Clearly there is inventory still out there. They lost my family as current and future business. May not mean much to them, but we would go in there and spend a couple hundred $ 2-3 times per year when we were in Ames.
