Cy-Hawk fear...

Honestly I think JDM is getting pretty desperate and trying to drive more Clone traffic to his site with some propaganda, because from what I've seen that place is a graveyard these days.

Its working.

But honestly its not just limited to there. I hear this stuff all of the time from Hawk fans in town here. I really dont care if the series goes on or not. If it does...great. If not, oh well. Its exhausting anymore to listen to the constant crap from both sides about it.

Outside of 2005, in the last 12 years please point to a game vs ISU where Iowa had "their ***** handed to them". You're biggest margin of victory outside of 2005 was a whopping 5pt win. Conversely, during that same time, Iowa pasted ISU numerous times by 30+ points which would've 50+ under any other coach not named Kirk Ferentz.
I love these posts. "Those were close losses, except for the ones that weren't."

If they cancel the football series, we should cancel the basketball series. Because, you know, we have nothing to gain and everything to lose by playing it.

I suppose it would be ok to keep it going if they agreed to play in Hilton every year.

Ah, Jon Miller's annual "I don't care about the Cy-Hawk game" article. Seems early this year.

I've said this many times but I'll say it again. Go **** yourselves, hawkfans!

This. Love it. F 'em all.

Worst fanbase ever.... and I live in J-Sqawk territory. (At least they actually have titles "in sports that people actually care about" to be proud of.) **iowa and Missouri are pretty similar, never won **** and act like they have 20 national titles in FB or something...when in reality it is ZERO.

They're just looking for wins. That's all. Nothing to do with "prestige". They lose too much.

Worst non-conference winning percentage since 2000 for teams they've played more than once?

Well, we're actually second worst at .500, along with a handful of others at 1-1. They have a rousing 1-2 record versus Western Michigan.

unless the Cyclones would agree to play that game in Iowa City every year. I’d be OK with it under those circumstances
Derp.

I have been saying and writing for years that Iowa has nothing to gain by playing this series. Nothing to gain and everything to lose.
Derp derp.

Thanks for the pat on the head Jon.

This is the same rhetoric they used when they didn't want to play basketball at UNI anymore. Miller is a mouthpiece for the Athletic Department.

They've already made up their minds to end the series. Its coming. Pollard just needs to stand strong and pull the plug in all other sports too...

Welcome to the offseason everyone! Check your common sense at the door before coming in!

So I'll go ahead and say it, it appears as though some vocal fans of the Hawkeyes (More than likely in the minority.. Hopefully) are in contempt to our series anymore because of our growing AD success. That same portion also feels we shouldn't expand our stadium because it is a further sign that the younger brother has outgrown their brother and is now bigger and taller so they continue to live in the past. Spin it anyway you want, but that is the obvious truth regardless to how subtle they put it.

It was the state legislature who forced the resumption of the game back in the 70's. Wouldn't surprise me if they had a little something to say to the BOR about cancelling the game on either side.

As for me - I couldn't care less either. It's a great rivalry game. But I'm tired of their fans. Of course, game or no game - it wouldn't matter. We would hear how great they are and how lucky we were not to play them cause they finally beat Northwestern and are on top of the world.

I just love the nothing to gain comment that Iowa likes to keep bringing up, as if the programs have been on such a different level for so long. Since the ISU football program decided to have a pulse and broke the streak in 98, ISU leads the series 9-7. This is a very evenly matched series with a program in a power 5 conference, who most years is the best non-con team Iowa plays. The history just isn't far apart as hawk fans want to think. Everyone just looks at the streak in the 80s and early 90s and assumes the whole thing is lopsided, while in reality that streak was the aberration and not the norm. Prior to the streak, Iowa held a 18-12 series lead, but they also had the advantage of playing of playing 21 out of 30 of those games in Iowa City.

Any hawk fan that thinks they are above playing this series needs a history lesson.

The fact you're even talking about this and posting what you've posted above is already you failing. How bad do you wish you could go back to the 80's and early 90's?

So posting facts that ISU has only really handed Iowa a beating once in the past 12 years is failing? Interesting. Unlike some here, I have no insecurities about the program I support. Iowa is head and shoulders the better football team. Has been since the series restarted. To debate that is beyond moronic. The same would be true if I were to come on here and say Iowa has been the better basketball program over the past 20 years. It hasn't been, and would be stupid to even suggest so.
