This story could probably be written about a few programs. Have to think the financial issues are only going to worse with lower tier programs (thinking Mountain West teams and whatever the Pac12 is this week) once July comes and NIL goes in house. I'm not a big fan of Steve Alfords, but I agreed with his comment this week that this whole thing has become utterly ridiculous.

Unfortunately, I think this will become more common in the new world order of college athletics as business models shift from a not for profit to a for profit model. There will be growing pains and my hope is that the whole entire system doesn’t fall in on itself as a result because as fans we will be asked for more (and we already have). This is just the beginning……
