I have a mixture of a lot of different stuff. I research pretty hard a lot of this stuff (especially the batteries) all come from the same place. I’ve gone to HD dead set on some Milwaukee stuff and ended up with a Ryobi equivalent because it’s the same thing with different colored plastic.

Some of the Hitachi stuff I have has been crazy good quality but it can be harder to find.

A lot of my corded stuff is Hitachi (chop saw, router, jig saw, circular saw, etc.) I’ve been very satisfied with all of it. You can get most basic hitachi tools at menards. Some of the higher end or specialty stuff you have to get online.

I bought my son a Craftsman drill for Xmas and it’s a POS compared to my Makita stuff.

I use Milwaukee all day long with very few issues. I just bought the trimmer and it is awesome. The biggest issue is you have to use your batteries regularly or they will start to go bad.

Another DeWalt guy here. I bought a 20V leaf blower and hedge trimmer. Liked them so much I went out and bought an impact and drill combo.

They're fantastic tools with fantastic batteries. I bought before the Flexvolt was a thing, but I'm quite pleased with the 20V.

Not going to list a brand, but I would definitely look into lithium-ion battery packs.

Looking at upgrading my corded black and decker trimmer to a new battery system because I hate messing with the cord. I've ran across a lot of sites that recommend EGO. Anyone have experience using this product? It is rather pricey compared to Ryobi for example, which some have posted work just fine.

I would like to get a tool that has a string trimmer attachment, as-well-as a metal edger attachment

I have the Makita X2 (36v) cordless powerhead that can run string trimmer, edger, pole saw, power broom, hedge clipper, tiller, etc attachments. It's actually a bit much for a string trimmer unless you have a huge yard and a ton of trimming to do, but it's the only one that I can confirm has an edging attachment. It's an expensive set up but sales at Acme Tools combined with factory promos can make your money go a lot further than it otherwise would. Acme usually has two really good sales a year to look out for. Makita promos change from month to month. I don't know about other brands.

Also, a buddy has the EGo mower and loves it. I don't know about their other stuff though.
