I remember the old days when we use to have to convince ourselves of things like how Rhoads promoting Messingham was a great thing for the program.

Other than Herman and Mess, did CPR have a lot of assistants move UP in their careers? Actually probably a lot if I was fair...

its funny, but the North Dakota State fans really came to like Messingham. Some even bragged about how they couldn't predict his plays (in a good way)! Hard to believe.

Run off left tackle, no gain. Screen pass for 2 yards. Desperation long pass, incomplete. Punt.

Repeat.

It was interesting at how much more we gained on screen passes under Campbell/Manning/Gasser.

Very impressive resume. Especially his record setting offense he coached at ISU...

Why did we ever let him get away from us...

Edit: This is one of those times where a jimlad emoji would provide clarity...

Messingham or Conor Riley must have visited the Council Bluffs/Omaha area on the way back to Manhattan. Iowa Western had at least one player offered this week by K-State. They had very good luck recruiting the Omaha area while at North Dakota State. Perhaps Lakes Bison could fill us in?

It sounds like our HS head coach's son is the target. He had actually visited KSU prior to Mess's visit. This is the first year for this head coach and their son in our district (they came from Arkansas). The kid could be a diamond-in-the rough player. This was the first year I have seen him play. Also, our team was an average team at best (but far better than the last few years), and this kid helped our D and O lines immensely.
