111 combined points in the Ole Piss/Bama game. Do we all still get to hear about how great the defense is in the SEC and how bad it is in the Big 12?

Never care to hear again from the college football talking heads about how they do not play defense in the Big 12 after what happened today in the SEC.

Alabama/Ol Miss, 63 to 48, aTm/ Florida 41 to 38, UGA/ Tenn 44 to 21, Mizzou/LSU 45 to 41.

Whaddayamean? Their offenses are NOW just so ******* GOOD that even their stellar all world defenses can't keep them from scoring!!!!!

Anyone see the hose job in the Auburn - Arkansas game? Auburn QB was going to spike the ball but muffed it (sound familiar?). When he picked it up, he threw the ball backwards when he spiked it. Should have been a fumble. Instead it was ruled intentional grounding and Auburn went on to kick the game winning field goal.

EDIT: Nevermind... Looked through the entire thread and this was already discussed. Carry on.

At minimum, they should have had a running clock as it was a fumble.

Well hopefully Mike Leach is impressed with SEC defenses - they are shutting him down...and he's not even playing the real good teams yet.

I’m usually not a conspiracy guy or anything when it comes to media bias, but it’s simply amazing how the talking heads continue to drop to the same old tired line of, “And now we take you to the defense is optional League that is the Big 12.” Meanwhile, LSU last year just gets praised as having the most elite offense ever, and they did so not taking that from them. But those mighty SEC defenses were just carved up by a great offense.

Jump to this year and tonight especially, and it’s like a track meet in all of these SEC games. Won’t hear anything about the defense optional SEC though from the talking heads.

I would agree, except the Big 12 has been exposed over and over again in bowl games the past several years, including the playoffs. We’ve earned that reputation and it will take a long time to reverse the stigma.

Except they haven't tho....Big 12 defenses have held their own on defense, for the most part, in the bowl games. The last 34 bowl games dating to 2015 the conference is 17-17. Not great, not bad.

I'm waiting for the ultimate spin: "Missouri's goal-line stand in an 86-point game is yet another indicator that defense in SEC is far superior to Big 12." :D

The conference has? Or OU has in playoff games?

Until Big 12 steps up and wins or at least shows a defense in the Playoff game that is going to be the narrative. Unfortunately for a lot of people the only thing that matters are the Playoff games. Wish it wasn't that way but it is.
