It’s far beyond humbling, and the last thing I ever thought I’d do, but it would mean the world to our family if you could take a minute to read the linked GoFundMe.

Just taking the time to read and share would mean a lot. Without a social or social media network of our own, any sharing of the link would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve always been an open book and used CF as a diary of sorts. As I’ve stated from the start 20 years ago, and repeat to this day, you truly are family to us and we couldn’t ask for a better support network than we’ve had from all of you over the years.

Any bumps to this post would also be very much appreciated as conditions will continue.

Thank you,
Jeremy, Rhonda, Isaac, Eli

P.S. - Please note that due to the emotional and personal nature of contributions and/or sharing words of encouragement, I plan to refrain from posting personal thank you notes in this thread. My wife and I would rather jointly provide individualized, heartfelt thank you notes via the GoFundMe portal.

Update: 2/24/25

Wow! We are so grateful for the amazing support shown as we roll this out. The response has been breathtaking and the amount of people sharing of our story makes a world of difference as we’re not great at networking or active on social media. Sharing is caring as Isaac would say:)

It’s incredible the number of people you build connections with throughout your life, and how easy it is to take for granted when times are good. We’ve been truly blessed to have met so many remarkable people in our lives - each and every one of you mean so much to us.

When times turn tough, even in this chaotic world, the generosity and compassion shown by so many can move mountains and provide light when and where it otherwise didn’t seem possible.

The past 3 years of endless appointments, hospital visits, and tests of every kind have left us with a deep hole to dig out of, and a long list of needs going forward. We’ve tried our best to battle it alone and with the support of our family, but it’s been a very dark and difficult path at every turn. When you hit bottom, have nothing left, and find the humility to ask for help, it’s often far too late.

Each of you are providing the support and encouragement we’ve desperately needed to chart a new course.

Your generosity and support will directly help us make house modifications, procure necessary medical equipment, provide care and support for our family, and navigate the many hurdles ahead. A simple example is that with what was raised over the weekend, we were able to pay for hearing aids. It may sound trivial to some, but I’ll now be able to hear Eli sing in his 3rd grade concert this week – something he’s incredibly excited for and proud of.

While Parkinson’s is a progressively degenerative disease, both physically and cognitively, having these resources and your support gives us a chance to carry forward and keep fighting. Unfortunately, cognitive issues have progressed much quicker than usual, but with the right tools, we can help slow the tide and give our kids and family a fulfilling life. You are making a huge difference.

My wife says I write too much, so I should probably stop here. I guess when people’s compassion leaves you without words, you find a couple thousand to put together trying:)

With Love,
Jeremy, Rhonda, Isaac, Eli

I absolutely hate the feeling of bumping my own thread, but we’re reaching the limits of our connections and could really use some help sharing the link if you don’t mind. God, it’s hard to ask that. But please realize I’m not asking for more support here, but to share the link to reach others.

We‘re so incredibly grateful for everything everybody has done, truly from the bottom of our hearts. If you know me, you know that’s absolutely genuine. The support and words of encouragement have made a world of difference to the entire family. I will actually be able to make out the words of our 3rd grader singing tomorrow night, something he’s been more excited for than anything I’ve ever seen. That’s ******* moving.

Personally, I’m probably at my darkest spot yet just because of the reality and full circle of shame, regret, inadequacy, etc. But the amount of love and support you’ve given my family will help them push me through this, or off a cliff - depends on the day;)

So, I humbly ask, please share the link on your social media if you want - I don’t want people to feel they have to. I don’t have social media accounts, so even a few extra readers can move mountains.

I love you all so very much.

Jeremy

P.S. There are a lot of people in need in this cruel world so if you have other causes or things to support, I don’t want you to change plans. Support those people and causes as there are many with far more needs.
