In Unix, 12AM on 1/1/1970 UTC is time = 0. That's 12/31/1969 in USA time zones, so that's why you'll often see that pop up as a default date. They apparently don't have Bridget's birthdate, and the programmer of that page neglected to properly handle that situation.
