It's great to get back into the swing of things with wrestling at Hilton again this week!!
We have guests coming in that have contributed to the Cardinal and Gold Collective in the past, and we want to make sure that they contribute going forward, so I am asking all of you supporters of ISU wrestling that if you have extra tickets for this weekend's duals to please consider donating tickets and Johnny passes to the Cardinal and Gold collective.
To those of you that have helped me out in the past with this, thank you so much, it was greatly appreciated and put to good use. But I can always use more tickets and passes.
To let you know what has been happening in the early parts of 2025 with the CNG, I had a very productive 3-hour+ meeting with a great supporter of Iowa State University and ISU wrestling, along with his CFO. This person flat out told me that he wants to beat everyone next year, including PSU. I told him that it is going to require money for retention of our athletes and money for acquisition of 2-3 studs to fill some holes. The CFO asked how much I thought, I told them, and neither one of them blinked. I am very optimistic going forward.
I received the final figures from West O Beer for Blood Round in 2024, and thanks to all of you, Blood Round exceeded our expectations and is a great addition to the CNG family. Now going forward we need you to keep asking your grocery stores and local watering holes to add Blood Round to their lineup. It makes a big difference to the success of the CNG and in turn ISU wrestling.
The next big goal is to get Blood Round in Casey's, so if any of you have an "in" with Casey's to get our foot in the door, that would be a game changer and greatly appreciated.
I would be remiss not to mention and also thank all of you that are monthly donors to the CNG. All of those donations make a huge difference, so don't ever think that it isn't noticed or appreciated. I know it's been a little frustrating so far this season after all of the success last year, but don't give up the ship just yet on 2024-2025. And don't ever think that Coach Dresser isn't out there planning for the future and we should all take pride in being part of the success of ISU wrestling.
Have a great week everyone and hope to see you this weekend in Ames.
