Caleb Grill has been dismissed from team

Is there a chance Caleb would be allowed back on the team after his apology for the NCAA tournament? or is he long gone? also, who takes his minutes from the guard perspective? we need someone to step up and make a few 3's a game. Terrible timing. Eli King, Watson?
He ain't coming back. Apologies don't make a culture, expectations do -- and he didn't meet TJs.

I'd assume we have a little bit more Watson and Kunc coming up.

I doubt it.

That being said, I thought his statement was great. He did an outstanding job on it.

If this is accurate, and I have no reason to doubt your knowledge of the situation, why let Caleb make a choice, then allow the team to overrule that choice?
I don’t know the reasoning for allowing Caleb to make the decision, but I would assume it’s because 1. TJ cares deeply about Grill (as he does with every guy on the team), 2. He understands Grill has been dealing with some demons and wanted to leave the path to his dismissal up to him to decide which one worked better for him and his situation - I think, to save face for Caleb. And 3. I think it was one of those things where TJ wanted to lay him down gently but the team decided to rip the bandaid off because if Grill stuck around, but didn’t play, he would be a distraction (internally and externally, fans wondering what’s up with Grill) to what they’re trying to accomplish and, having him around was bringing the moral and camaraderie of the team

I've been waiting all year to see more of Eli King's play, but now is definitely not the time to throw him to the wolves. Watson would be my guess for most of the minutes, as he was really an asset while Kunc was out. Rest probably divided up between the usual guys.

Would be nice to just see Eli to get a few minutes here and there. With the way this team gets into foul trouble and pressures on defense, another player who can come in and contribute is going to help. Could be valuable experience for him to develop. I don't think he's any worse than Grill was as a freshman.

I'm sure he's not, but he hasn't been in a game with high level competition yet this year. It would be like jumping out of bed in the morning to race against elite athletes who are already warmed up.

Well, I mean…considering his teammates unanimously voted him off..
That’s interesting…maybe that’s TJ’s leadership style, but I have a hard time believing that TJ re-created a Survivor Tribal Council and then snuffed out CG’s torch once the votes were in…

TJ is a leader- he’s didn’t take a vote and then kick him off the team. TJ and his coaches made a decision.

Osun pretty much on camera said he had nothing to do with the decision. Kind of leads me to believe the team vote is a lie.
I mean I highly doubt that everyone on the team got a vote and literally wrote down yes or no or said yay or nay but I'm sure TJ talked to at least some of them and the overwhelming feedback was they wanted to move on without Caleb.

I just wish TJ would hold officials as accountable as he apparently he does his players.

I'd be upset if I was Grill too. That one game, maybe WV away, where he had two absolutely phantom fouls called on him back to back, and TJ didn't do anything. Even the announcers were calling them horrible calls.
Apples/Oranges, buddy

It’s March. The rotation gets tightened up between the guys that already play the minutes.

More like an FYI "I'm dismissing Caleb" before it happened. So they wouldn't get blind sided by second hand info off of sites like this or the news.

He doesn't need or was looking for any input. They all know what this is about.
