Honestly if we want to bring back a mens sport why not one that we were actually good at? Men's gymnastics had just as bad as attendence as baseball and we won national championships in that sport.

Actually the cost to run the baseball team is not alot. When it went away supporters did raise enough money for one season and it was only like 150,000 to 200,000 to pay everything. I agree that when they do brong it back it will be when they can put up better facilities also.

baseball blows!!! Nobody went to games, and I think they were free. Baseball at ISU was a joke and a waste of money. Everyone ******* about our small athletic budget. Well, fork some of that budget over to baseball, and the rest of the sports get less. This, to me, is not a good thing. Baseball can stay out of ISU, in my opinion.

Like I said before, I torn on whether or not I'd like to see baseball return to ISU. 7 of the 10 Big XII teams playing baseball have made it to the tournament. The Big XII is now a respected conference for baseball.

I don't follow Pro ball much anymore, so NU baseball has taken it's place. It's fun to follow your favorite college team do really well.

NU plays Manhatten today in the first round of the regionals.

>>>>Ding, ding, ding! Nebraska HAS the money to pour into facilities, and since they're sharing a park with a pro team, they can spend some of that money on practice/training areas, etc. NU would lose a lot more money on a stand-alone ballpark, I bet.>>>>

Good point about NU's arrangement. The only way ISU baseball will ever work is if they have a similar shared stadium arrangement with a minor league team in Ames or if they utilize Principal Park in DSM. Obviously, playing home games in DSM would be considered a last resort.
