Had a blackpol warbler stop on his way to the Canadian Tundra this morning. Apparently they like my neighbors stand of evergreens.
Last Saturday we spent a few minutes watching the swallows skim up and down stream over the Skunk River catching bugs in the waning sunlight. Such accomplished flyers and hunters...

Not my image. We have many Mountain Chickadees living in the wooded reserve behind us. Sometimes they will venture out; however, they seem to know when my camera is set up and they avoid the dreaded camera.

What you have there is a nest that has been parasitized by a cowbird. Cowbirds don't make their own nests or raise their young. They lay eggs in another species' nest and then the cowbird babies (which develop quicker than other bird babies) eat all the food from the parents and/or kick the others out of the nest.
Nature is often cruel, and this is an example of that.
Oh, and you technically broke the law by removing the nest. But I won't tell.

This beautiful bird of prey hangs out at the local kiddie trout pond in Columbia Falls, Montana. It swooped down and bagged a small trout out of the pond. Unfortunately, I was unable to stay on task and became a tourist and missed the strike.
