Big 12 realignment is back...looks like real changes coming soon.

That sounds like a great market! The Big 12 should be sure to have a school there. Actually, definitely two schools there. You know what? It sounds so great that we should have three schools there. F*** it! Let's go crazy and have four schools there! Surely that has to be good enough?

If there is a market there to actually support five conference members, then perhaps four isn't enough.

So you still aren't using any form of attribution other than to add a scattershot of wildly unreliable sources and claiming that their individual inaccuracies combine to form some sort of actual accuracy?

I need to meet your old major professor. They really just cashed a paycheck on this one.

You know, this isn't a journalistic article...or a position paper....its a message board post talking about the cumulative relevance of a whole lot of rumors AND some commentary from University Presidents (Boren being a key one). Feel free to ignore my summary of the bits and pieces...and make your own conclusions. Or just sit back and hold to the line that nothing new is coming as relates to realignment.

Or do neither, and I'll just keep calling out people that pass out blatant BS.

I know I'll be in the minority, but I want to add Cincy and CSU. Why CSU?

  • Well they are trying to expand their student body so more alumni in the future
  • State school
  • closer to current footprint than UConn
  • basketball and football seems to be on the rise
  • new stadium, which can be expanded in the future
  • Colorado is a fun state
I don't hate UConn, but I do have issues with them. Far away, cocky basketball fans, don't support their football, and everything seems to be off campus for them.

If you read the attached article from cbs, and then some of the links from there, it names a lot of the specific firms that the b12 has hired to explore these issues. No doubt, the issue is under study and will likely be decided in May or June. At least one industry source speculated that boren's interest is to destabilize the b12, so he can get out of the GOR and move to another league.....B10? Everyone agrees....without Texas AND Oklahoma, there is no b12. I have posted many times.....I do not trust Oklahoma. Interesting to see what happens. Pollard told several of us last summer.....there's will be no more Texas teams, no BYU and no Boise State. I could expand of his reasons if anyone is interested. At that time, he said most schools preferred to stay at 10, as nobody brought $ to the table.

We have WVU already so it makes sense to expand east not west

UConn also gets some east coast attention (writers and broadcasters) on the Big XII in a way that adding west will never do.

I'm not saying its massive, but its more than a west coast school

Actually, I was pretty clear that their are a number of sources....none of them individually especially reliable. Dodd, Shaggybevo, Mhver, TheDude, various sources from the WVU Scout board. Lately, many of them seem to be getting a lot of the same information....coupled with bits we get from Dodd, Big 12 leadership, and a variety of tidbits from other sporting sites...and yes, I believe it starts to add up to....something about to happen.

Feel free to knock the sourcing, its...as I said...weak and widely varied, but it does cumulatively seem to imply some real fire under the smoke at this time. Add in Boren's urgency and commentary and I think anyone believing NOTHING is going to happen this summer is just plain wrong.

Justin throw s+÷! at the wall and hope it sticks!

I beleive u Mesa. Thanks for the info. The President of Cinnci hasn't been meeting with half the other Presdiients from this conf. Over the past year for giggles..

Adding Cinncinati woild be huge for Isu..huge. It opens up Campbell's Ohio recruitng grounds that much more...would be huge. Not to mention the division would prob look like this..

Isu
Ku
Ksu
Cinnci
TCU
WV

Yes please.

Right. The OP cites sources of speculation not sources of information. And ones he doesn't even deem to be reliable. smh.

They all do the same thing you do. One of them posts X rumor, another one sees it and says "I heard X," another sees that and says "I'm hearing X from two people," on and on it goes. It's an echo chamber from these nameless attention-starved goons who have been right less often than a broken clock.

Other people in other threads have said this but no way those in the other half would allow the 'south' to be so stacked. More likely would be ISU or KU opposite Conn to even out the mediocre football.

I thought the same thing about the Big Ten and look how they did it.

Yes, thank goodness you're here to save everyone....no matter how ridiculous you appear in this process. Sacrificing your own dignity for the sake of others, how very altruistic of you. Keep up the good work.

A lesser person might simply trust others to read and reach their own conclusions.
