Big 12 realignment is back...looks like real changes coming soon.

his is all about geographic footprint and TV sets. Look at Rutgers.

Not this go around its not. With cord cutting becoming a viable concern with networks, its no longer about adding millions of eyeballs that don't care about ESPN/specific schools (like Rutgers) and its more about finding national and big fanbases. UCONN is certainly one of the better draws the Big 12 could get.

We're 1-1 against UCONN and 0-1 against Rutgers. Two teams mentioned as being bad in FB. I wouldn't count it as an automatic W if this happens.

May not be an automatic W, but swap OU and Baylor for those two and I like our chances of a W a hell of a lot more.

We have WVU already so it makes sense to expand east not west
While I agree we shouldnt go too far west like BYU. CSU isn't that far away. CSU is closer to big 12 schools than UConn is to WVU. Plus Cincy can be solve WVU problem of having no schools by them. UConn would be another island.

So some suggest that a team from the perceived south would move to the other division to balance football. No way does OU move without OSU. 4 Texas teams remain south. So you are either talking of moving the 2 Kansas teams south and the 2 Oklahoma teams north. I am not sure I see that happening.

Yes; let's please maintain some sense of geographic sanity. Memphis & Colorado State before UCONN. I've been on "Team Cincinnati" for a while now. Give West Virginia a neighbor and invade B1G territory. UCONN offers little beyond basketball.

Yes, thank goodness you're here to save everyone....no matter how ridiculous you appear in this process. Sacrificing your own dignity for the sake of others, how very altruistic of you. Keep up the good work.

A lesser person might simply trust others to read and reach their own conclusions.

You're welcome.
Of course, in your academic, military, and professional work, you've come to appreciate the counsel of experienced people who have seen the BS game before. You know the value of that sort of thing.

I don't think TCU would put up much of a fight. They've already bounced from conference to conference with regularity. I would think east-west divisions would be the most likely outcome.

Zipper divisions. Divide the Texahoma 6 between the two divisions with permanent cross-division rivals.

West
Texas------------Oklahoma
Texas Tech------Oklahoma State
Baylor-----------TCU
Kansas----------Kansas State
WVU------------Cincy
UConn-----------Iowa State

I was thinking North and south
North
ISU
KU
KSU
WVU
UCONN
Cincy
South
OU
OSU
Tech
Texas
Baylor
TCU

two things about this.

1. Texas and OU want to be in the same division so they never meet up in the CCG. They said this numerous times so I can see them being broken up.

2. Right now Iowa state is the second most eastern team so I think we would be in the east division if we had zippers.

I don't care if CSU and BYU are closer to the Big 12 than UConn, I just don't want a three timezone conference.

That West Division is pretty weak. Baylor and mediocre teams. And in looking again, I wonder if Memphis wouldn't be chosen before UConn. I don't see how WVU fits into the West Division. Agree with cross-division rivals concept.

I see the 4 Texas Schools and maybe the 2 Kansas Schools in one division. And then 2 Oklahoma schools, WVU, Cinci, Memphis, Iowa State in the other division.

I think it would look something like this, but a little different. Two Texas schools per division. Maybe like this with protected crossovers:

West
Iowa State (West Virginia)
Kansas (UConn)
Kansas State (Cincinnati)
Oklahoma (Oklahoma State)
Texas (TCU)
Texas Tech (Baylor)

East
Baylor (Texas Tech)
Cincinnati (Kansas State)
Oklahoma State (Oklahoma)
TCU (Texas)
UConn (Kansas)
West Virginia (Iowa State)

And I know some people will say that OU and UT would be in opposite divisions. But I have seen somewhere (I think Chip Brown) saying they didn't want that to be on the table if the Big 12 went to divisions. So I wouldn't be surprised to see them in the same division.

Baylor
BYU
OU
OSU
Texa$
Tech

Cincy
ISU
KU
KSU
TCU
WVU

Three time zones ain't that big of a deal if the schedule is arranged so that BYU-Tech & Cincy-WVU aren't crossing paths very often.

I will take Colorado State and Cincinnati. Memphis would be my third option before Uconn. The ACC didn't even want UCONN.
