Big 12 realignment is back...looks like real changes coming soon.

UCONN... And people are okay with this? What happened to "football is all that matters in conference realignment?" I doubt Texas Tech is very excited to travel all the way to freaking Connecticut for thirty thousand empty seats. I just don't understand taking the Huskies over BYU as a football only member.

it's inevitable for the league, so get it done ASAP. These are the two best candidates.

All of this is opinion. Nothing about expansion is inevitable. And UCONN is only remotely a "good" candidate if the conference ties itself to a dieing business model.

Every Iowa State fan should be a fan of adding teams to the Big 12. It helps stabilize the conference and keeps OU and Texas from jumpiong. If the Big 12 falls apart Iowa State could easily be the odd man out. This would be disaster. So bring on UConn and Cincy. Plus Cincy puts us on televisions in the Ohio market that CMC loves to recruit out of.

So out of curiosity I went and looked at MHVers recent tweets and it is clear that this is where OP got his info.

Safe me to say that it isn't happening. Thankfully.

I need more smoke and fire before I fully believe this. But I will add that Jamie is a pretty shrewd operator, it is possible he see this coming and that is why Campbell makes the most sense of a hire, if we are going to be competing against more schools to the East of us.

Wrong. This type of forced expansion will be the undoing of the league.

Good thing it won't happen.

IF...and that's a big if...they can get a true conference network as mentioned...then why add these teams now. The ACC is struggling to get that going and the Big12 would be awfully attractive to some of those ACC teams if they have a breach of contract creating a loophole for those teams to jet to the big12.

Stay at 10. Wait for the ACC to implode.

Big 12 might not be in a good position to wait. If Texas is willing to concede the LHN and ESPN is willing to create a Big 12 Network then we need to make the move. 12 teams gives us a CCG. It is pretty obvious that the CFP Committee would have boned us again if they could have last year but OU thwarted their plans. Having a CCG will likely give us a seat at the Playoffs each year. And the Big 12 Network puts us on good footing with the Big 10 and the SEC.

It is more likely that the ACC takes our spot and that the Big 12 then implodes. The landing spot for Iowa State would not be as good as where we are now.

Addition of Cinci and UConn makes so much more sense than adding BYU. I am not a fan of adding BYU with all the things they would want and demand.

**** BC for sticking their hand out and starting this realignment **** storm.

Let's squeeze every drip of amateurism and fun out of college athletics

We can play a conf championship game with 10 members now. No need for more.

Football only? What demands could they impose? Games are played on Saturdays. Problem solved. Plus we can keep round robin in basketball with eleven members.

There has been a LOT of Smoke this year including a President who won't shut his yap. Seems like we are just waiting on the details.

I also will not be very happy if we add UConn as they don't fit in very well and I doubt hardly any of their fans could find all of the Big XII states on a map. But if that's the best they can do for now and it stabilizes the conference then so be it.
