Going to see hateful 8 tonight. Which is the best theatre, wife always wants to go to Jordan Creek. Do any have recliners?
Going after the game I hope?

Anyway, can't remember if Jordan Creek has recliners, but I do not like their sound their. I prefer either Cobblestone, or Wynnsong.

I loved Wynnsong before Flix showed up.

Behind you
Fleur Cinema. Hands down. Small theatre, only 4 or 5 screens, no massive crowds, short previews, you can get a glass of wine or a beer before going in. This is the best theatre in the city in my opinion and it isn't close.

Flix has $2 beer nights on Tuesday. Not that helps you.

But you can get chicken strips delivered to your seat!

Agree with FLIX. What more can you want from a theather than endless amounts of craft beer and some really good food. If FLIX wasn't showing it I'd agree with someone above that said Fleur, although they tend to stray off the beaten path a little bit with their movie choices. That's not a bad thing because they get some films that people are talking about nationally but don't have the money to advertise like the big films. If Fleur doesn't have it then I watch it online and hook my laptop up to my TV. I at least make an effort not to watch for free....

Isn't Cobblestone old and damp n musty? Went there once, there was a pool of water on top of carpet and will never go back.

Cobblestone is my theatre of choice. Not the most modern but I guess I do not care about all of the other stuff like recliners or whatever. They have a good price for their shows and Tuesday nights are stimulus nights so it is a good deal for pop and popcorn those nights.

Joe Dirt 2 is on Crackle, the free internet streaming movie channel. Strong supporting actor performances from Christopher Walken and Mark McGrath. Joe battles against non-inclusion and discrimination by mean people....a sure fire Oscar winning formula. Powerful and moving soundtrack with Colt Ford contributing gives the deepest social commentary since "It's hard out here for a Pimp". Chris Pine cried when seeing this movie...now, he isn't an academy voter, but he does suck up to some.
Some locations filmed in Fort Dodge. I would definitely see this movie in 4-D if available. In Des Moines you may have to settle for 3-D, but I would definitely see this movie before you go sit in your next CNN focus group of likely Iowa voters.

Was it a good movie though? Where would you rank it in comparison to other Tarantino films?
I'm not a Tarantino fan so I'm not a good person to ask I just love westerns. It was a western but not in the classic sense, I'm pretty sure I liked the movie but, it was kind of different but not in a bad way. I definitely don't regret seeing it, and I think Tarantino fans will really like it. It was uncomfortable at times with the Gore and brains etc, and the beating of women but not overpowering. It definitely didn't go where I thought it would and it's not one of those movies where you have it figured out halfway through which is a good thing. Definitely not a movie I'd watch with my parents due to a certain scene involving a bj in a snow drift. Very awkward.

Winnsong is in the middle of remodeling. I think most theaters are done though. Added the "rocking" chairs (not true recliners, but pretty comfy).

Sounds like I'm missing out not going to Flixx. Have to make a point of hitting it soon.
