No it's the best 2 teams. If we play Drake every game I am sure we will be 12-0. Does that mean we deserve to play for the National title? Hawaii has played nobody. They really have played nobody. So do you penalize LSU for playing Florida, Auburn, Bama and the rest.

I want to see Hawaii go undefeated, at the same time I hope KU loses. Hey what can I say I'm a Colt Brennan fan.

The beat teams in college are usually the undefeated ones. Because if they lost even one game they are not the best because someone can beat them.

No, the argument is that if Hawaii were to play in the SEC, or even the Pac 10, they would not have the unblemished record that they have now. Have you paid attention to them? Do you not know about their near losses to Louisiana Tech, San Jose State, Fresno State, and Nevada (a team that got rocked by Nebraska?)

It depends on who they've played. Do you think UNI is really the best team in the nation this year? They are undefeated. They've played a schedule that isn't a whole lot worse than Hawaii's.

Here's a post I spent a bit of time researching yesterday. If ISU had Hawaii's schedule this year we would have been bowling for sure. ISU 3 wins this year that are pretty comparable to Hawaii's best win. I'm not saying ISU goes undefeated with Hawaii's schedule, but 9-10 wins are certainly possible.

Its not a given that LSU plays in the BSC championship game. They are losing to Arkansas at the half and provided that they win, they still need to play and win the SEC championship game.

Hawaii is a horrible excuse for an undefeated team.

Last season, people said that Boise State was a horrible excuse for an undefeated team and that they didn't deserve to play in a BCS bowl.

Two seasons ago, I remember hearing the same statement referencing Utah.

Somehow Boise State and Utah both got invites to BSC bowls and both won.

Hawaii has played the worst schedule in I-A. They're going to lose to Boise, in all likelihood. I'm skeptical as to whether or not they even deserve to be in the Top 25. There's no one that they've beaten.

SoS (per Sagarin):

ISU - 6
UNI - 153
Hawaii - 154

Correction, Hawaii hasn't beaten any quality teams. Some people make the same claim when referencing Kansas.

It's not like they haven't TRIED to get a better schedule. Michigan dropped them this year and they can never get anyone to schedule them. They have said they will play anyone anywhere, and nothing... I think because they ARE willing to play anyone the BCS should let them in, if anything else to stick it to the other conferences for not scheduling them... Alot of people like to point to the San Jose St. game but it was played in a monsoon, not good for a passing team... Besides that every time an undefeated Hawaii plays any of those small schools it is the other team's super bowl, sound familiar? As long as they finish undefeated I say let them in.

They've struggled against most of the team's they've played. One win over a team with a winning record.

Avg points per win

6-win teams (1): 7
5-win teams (2): 1.5
4-win teams (2): 22 (won by 7 on the road)
3-win teams (1): 56 (against Charleston Southern)
2-win teams (1): 35 (@ UNLV)
1-win teams (3): 33

They can kill really ****** teams that have trouble defending a big time spread attack....well, the secondary is a tough place to produce talent when you suck, so that's no big surprise. The win over Fresno, and MAYBE the 1-point win at La-Tech are the only things even resembling beating a team that doesn't totally suck.

You don't reward a team because they can't schedule.

So do you punish a team because they can't schedule? What about a team that PURPOSELY schedules cupcakes (Kansas)? If anything it will be an entertaing game, I definately want to see Colt face a decent D. From the four games I have seen he looks to be the real deal, despite the system...

Well, Kansas knows they have a bit more room for error, as a team that goes undefeated through the Big 12 would have a pretty tough time not going to the BCS Championship game. That being said, they were not scheduling for a Championship game, rather, just to get enough wins to get a bowl bid, or perhaps a nice bid.

Hawaii knew they were in a horrible conference. If they think they are one of the best teams in the nation, they should have no trouble being able to get a road game against a Top 25 caliber team. Yes, you punish them.
