Excellent. Thanks for the “tip”Both, but would pick watcha smoking first.
That’s too bad we were at the fair yesterday and spent of the time at Beef Quarters and Iowa Pork Producers/Bud tentWhatcha also had a booth at the fair. Line looked too long so I didn't stop.
BeenNeither. Hickory Park is by far the best BBQ in the country.

We tried their new Iowa Sm-oak-ed roll, that's in the finals of the "best new fair food" contest. I thought it was pretty bland and flavorless. I'm a big fan of their BBQ, but I have no idea how this particular item made it to the finals. Maybe it's the presentation.Whatcha also had a booth at the fair. Line looked too long so I didn't stop.
That must have been the big line then. I didn't know about that item.We tried their new Iowa Sm-oak-ed roll, that's in the finals of the "best new fair food" contest. I’ve found that most new “best” fair foods aren’t actually very good. The brisket Mac and cheese sandwich that was the big winner last year, was not good at all in my opinion. We tried their new Iowa Sm-oak-ed roll, that's in the finals of the "best new fair food" contest. I didn't have that but has the other 2 new foods and it would oglf had to be amazing to beat out the bacon cheeseburger egg roll that I could of ate multiples of. My daughter had the lobster corn dog and I got a bite of that and it was pretty awesome too.We tried their new Iowa Sm-oak-ed roll, that's in the finals of the "best new fair food" contest. Tried Bubbies in Ankeny today. I thought it was pretty solid. They did a great job on their ribs.
I like that they are BBQ only. Simple menu.
Oh, I'm familiar with their Luther location. We go there fairly regularly in the summer months, and really like it. That's why I was surprised that their new offering at the fair was not fantastic.I didn't have that but has the other 2 new foods and it would oglf had to be amazing to beat out the bacon cheeseburger egg roll that I could of ate multiples of. If you visit Watcha Smokin location in Luther I recommend go early as they are a true BBQ place that once they are out of something for the day that's it. We try to go right around opening now as first couple times we tried them they were already out of ribs before 5pm.
