Winning always seems to solve everything....:wink:Let's just win today and forget about this.

Couldn't be any further from the truth. It would have been in ISU's best interest to redshirt Bates last year. They had Meyer with Arnaud to back him up. It would have created a separation in years between AA & PB.
I have heard and believe multiple opinions from people close to the program that the Bates family (specifically pbSR) insisted that Phil be allowed to play last year. If not, he would have bolted last year. It fits their agenda. They looked at AA as competition and didn't want to see him get a leg up on the job for this year. It also saved the redshirt year to be used if and when they decided to quit (errrr transfer). A transfer who has already burned his redshirt year is much less in demand.
I've grown tired of this whole Bates thing and I'm done with it. Today I'm focused on one thing only - ISU getting a win at Baylor and setting the tone for the rest of the season.
PB is a quitter in my book. How can you call him anything less?
That would be too funny too: "We're going somewhere else since he wont start!.......(psst, Junior, You still have some eligibility left right?) :biglaugh:Dude really...Both you and that COCKROACH are RITE!!!
Something to be said about "leaving with grace" @ the end of the season...
I pity the next coach who recruits er gets to have Bates on his team...dont make the crybaby unhappy or old Bates will quit at mid season....AGAIN:yes:
I agree with what he said about the redshirt last year... it was pretty stupid.
I trust everyone is aware that he still HAS a redshirt year left because they pulled it last year.
So if he went to, say, NE, he would have to sit a year due to NCAA rules, sit a year due to Big XII rules, but would still have two years of eligibility although one of those would be a redshirt year.
